i am looking for old tv replays of carlton home and away games from the period 1979-1984 only, it does not matter who the opponent was or what the result was.

I have tried the tv stations, the club, name a game/sports delivered, and torrents sites, but cannot find this sort of footage at all.

Sounds like you're pretty keen langers as this is the second time you've put this request up.

The TV stations would certainly have the material, but probably not in the format you would hope for.
Have you tried Headquarters as yet?
Surely someone there could either give you a yay or a nay.

You are going to be hard pressed to get hold of these replays outside of the TV stations, clubs or retailers of VFL match recordings. Your only hope may be supporters from NSW or Qld where the Match of the Day was shown live on Channel 7. I would think very few, if any, Victorians would have whole games recorded as they only had access to the Channel 7 replay or The Winners on the ABC, both shows which would generally only replay one quarter of a game.
