If Dempsey was a saints they would sign him for 10 plus4 years is about the most we should sign players for.
4 years is about the most we should sign players for.
From what I've heard in the media, clubs are a bit scared at the moment of losing players to free agency/trades, especially with Tassie coming in, which is the reason for the rise of these super long-term contracts for some players. That's probably one of the reasons why Dempsey got 4 years, too (apart from being a good player). To keep Tassie away from him.I think we've got a good approach at the moment where we look at each player & situation as it's own case
This could be one of the reasons that Gary was sitting in the crowd amongst the plebs on Sunday watching Ollie and the guys

Praise the Lord.Just two men watching the sunset together ........ regularly.
Zach Guthrie broke out/reached physical maturity probably aged 23-24. It's scary to imagine Dempsey taking a similar step around the same age from this platform.I think it's kind of crazy how 40 games ago he was an unknown, but now the most predictable part of our game plan seems to be moving the ball through him.
