I’m confident. It’s confidence based off nothing, but confident none the less.

My, wouldn't that open a can of worms!I totally agree. More just interested as it feels the only way the afl will possibly decline it is if they deem it to be too distant.
I'm assuming we cant trade Carltons pick to another club for their future first given that would be trading two years into the future.Correct,
Thats why Gold Coast always trade out of their top picks because they would get eaten up by matched bids, same as Essendon trading their first to Melbourne for a future 1st
so we could trade Carltanks pick for say 2 second rounders & a third which would go towards a point haul

Whilst we had rights to calsher as a father/son prospect, no one bid on him and we just drafted him anyway iirc
Same with Cody Anderson last year as an NGA. We drafted him rather than matched someone else’s bid.Whilst we had rights to calsher as a father/son prospect, no one bid on him and we just drafted him anyway iirc
Yes, but in hindsight, he would have been bid on much, much earlier!Whilst we had rights to calsher as a father/son prospect, no one bid on him and we just drafted him anyway iirc
Didn’t North try it with Sander’s and got rejected? The thing that is annoying is, if this was North or Saints this would go through without an issue
We are Hawthorn and the AFL hates us so will 100% be declined
As a player of indigenous descent, does that mean he qualifies for an NGA somewhere no matter what? Or are there still indigenous kids that go through the open draft.
Correct weight.Didn’t North try it with Sander’s and got rejected?

We definitely can, if we want to.I'm assuming we cant trade Carltons pick to another club for their future first given that would be trading two years into the future.
He got into their academy at the 11th hour but that was when you couldn't bid before pick 40Correct weight.
i believ it would be fine to trade Carlton pick as Greeves would be a first rounder so he would be the selection for th epast 2 yearsI'm assuming we cant trade Carltons pick to another club for their future first given that would be trading two years into the future.
Its all going to depend on where Carlton finish but we can definitely still come out ahead with some smart pick swaps.
Its obvious that its a system that is ripe for exploitation so we may as well exploit it like every other club does.
It's 2x 1st Round Picks per 4yrs, isn't it - not 1x selection every 2yrs?i believ it would be fine to trade Carlton pick as Greeves would be a first rounder so he would be the selection for th epast 2 years
probably changing again now you can trade 3 years into the futureIt's 2x 1st Round Picks per 4yrs, isn't it - not 1x selection every 2yrs?
Yeah, quite aware of that. I'm just worried it'll be knocked back if it seems we are just trying to piggyback on the development Oliver has received from his TAC/school/local club and we have had nothing to do with it.The application is for him to be part of our NGA program.
I'm not sure of anything regarding Anderson sorry. How so? Cody Anderson was only added late. IF he is in the zone and meets the criteria it's no different to JUH, Mackenzie, Kako or Jiath. NGAs aren't actually academies, they are just lists of eligible players.
But it does sound like we've already had him down at training and worked with him. And if we are applying for it, that means 1. he must be eligible. 2. He wants to go to hawthorn as NGA 3. We want him at Hawthorn.
If it doesn't happen then the AFL have screwed us over with a rule change. Just like we missed on Tew Jiath or saints on Cam Mackenzie but dogs didn't miss on JUH a few years earlier.
I think the saints would be feeling very aggrieved personallyThe thing that is annoying is, if this was North or Saints this would go through without an issue

When are they not?I think the saints would be feeling very aggrieved personally
Imagine waking up an 'Aint's fan!I think the saints would be feeling very aggrieved personally
