Recommitted Ollie Wines [re-signed]

Wines is in a very interesting position. He has seen port trade out top draft picks and fringe players to secure some decent experienced players for a shot at a premiership because a number of their topline players (Gray, Ryder, Dixon, Westhoff) are in or coming into their 30's very soon and time is short. He gets to see how things look this year knowing that if all works out and port have a good start to the year, he will feel very comfortable in resigning as he could see success and will get a good contract anyway. If it goes the other way and things go poorly for the team, he might think that the club will need to rebuild its list and with big offers to come in for a young topline midfielder, he would be crazy not to explore his options should that happen
Well Ollie knows he is being groomed to be Ports next Captain. Do you think he would leave that and go to another Club.

Dangefield was captain when he left the Crows. Grooming stands for SFA.

Tom Rockcliffe has been at the club for 2 minutes and is in the leadership group - you are grooming a lot of players.

Well it just goes to show you know SFA, Dangerfield was never a Captain of Adelaide.

It would probably take a godfather deal to pry him from the club and I honestly don’t think he’s the type of player to warrant a godfather deal. Very good inside midfielder yes, with leadership qualities, but he has quite a few limitations that make it very difficult for a club to commit $1m+ Over 4-5 Years.

I don’t know why all footballers don’t get their pilot’s licence. Then they can fly their planes to see family whenever they want. It’s so simple it’s almost like people who think that is a realistic scenario are brain dead nuffies

Why would anyone from Port ask for a transfer or wont to play for North .. We thrashed them last year ...
Ollie wont be leaving Port ... he loves Port, as he has said many times .. he wants to be a one Club player..
Jacobs did...

Won’t be leaving. Just trying to bump up his contract. This evenings article in the age from jake Niall would be music to his managers ears (references port having plenty of salary cap space to target another top player).
