Anyone got tales of Olympic woe? A mate of mine spent 4 and a half hours waiting for pre-paid football tickets last night. People who HADN'T bought tickets waited in line for 2 to 2 and a half hours.

You see, some bright spark decided that if people were not at home when the tickets were delivered, they should be shipped BACK TO SYDNEY and stored in a warehouse.

If you wanted to pick up your tickets, they had to PHONE SYDNEY, then get someone in Sydney to FIND YOUR TICKETS IN THE WAREHOUSE and TEAR THEM UP so they could be re-printed and handed to you.

Wanna know the flaw here? The IOC did not think the local ticketing agencies machines were good enough, so they supplied a whole TWO ticket machines to service Queensland.

Goodwill Games here I come!

Anyone catch the SBS special last night?

After putting up with this Olympic bullshit for 5 and a half years now - I have too many stories of Olympic woe to list here.

The latest one was on the way to work this morning. The train was late and over crowded (no big deal - happens all the time in Sydney) when I got into the city a couple of German tourists accosted me and demanded to know where the Opera House was, since they were doing their best Damir Dokic impersonation - I declined to assist - they spat on me.

F8ucking Euro-trash.

Just another day in the Olympic City - aaaarrrggghhh !!!!

Bluey the standard seems that if it is about the Olympics and related to Brisbane - there will be a stuff up.

Ch 7 keeps making 'an important announcment' during shows saying that 'a number' of the television guides in last Sundays paper were printed in NSW time, so to remember things like the opening ceromany might say starting at 6.30pm, that it is 5.30pm Qld time.

Then there is the Soccer Gala Opening here tonight. 1200 school kids and their friends and family now heartbroken after Ch7 cancelled the live telecast, 2 days before the event.

And good old Socog at it again. 2 weeks ago special dining packages released in the Lions Social Club, including a category A seat in the Social Club stand.

Socog have decided that that is now a security risk and the social club has been closed down for 2 weeks. Yet funnily enough the ad in last Sundays paper advertising the soccer matches, still had a "Dining Packages phone 3335 1777" section. Now that is the Lions phone number, but socog canned their dining packages!

Just send them in the completely wrong direction!!

Jump on that bus over there, when you get to Cabramatta, just tell someone that your from overses and that your lost and they'll help no problem!!!

Germans are the most travelled people in the world - means lots of them get out to as many far flung places as possible (unlike Americans who line up like sardines in Waikiki)

Unfortunately this means the proportion of ugly ones is also High

(Don't mention the war, I did, but I think I got away with it)

It's a farce, designed to serve the advertising needs of sponsors like Nike and McDonalds.

Can't wait for the 2008 Olympics in Beiji... OOPS! Almost let the HGH out of the false-bottomed Uzbekhistani suitcase there!
