Is anyone else worried that the Grand Final is in September or is it just me? Our last 2 premierships involved draws in Finals and hence the games were in October. Is the fact that there are no more draws in finals an AFL conspiracy against the Pies?
I am very nervous!

I helped us win the prelim but I can't tell you why, that was part of the deal. By deal i mean cosmic understanding with the power source.

I've also been making pacts with heavenly powers, and have made a lot of commitments that I'll have to come good on if the powers deliver on Saturday. Selling my soul and all that.

It worked for me in 2010 - I was a much better person that year and next. Have to pick up my game again.

A caller on SEN just said the following.

Year 7 Jock McHale Premiership Coach

Year 7 Nathan Buckley ?????

‘Hitbird’ is the magpie still terrorising North Burleigh Surf Club after weeks

NORTH Burleigh Surf Club’s fearsome evil magpie is still attacking passers-by, forcing locals to conclude its reign of terror is nowhere near over.

‘Hitbird’ is a ferocious magpie who has been swooping multiple victims for more than two weeks.

Gold Coast Bulletin photographer Glenn Hampson figured out the bird had a particular distaste for him and was able to capture the bird mid swoop.

The bird swooped the same photographer multiple times, following him from one side of the surf club to the other and waiting until his back was turned before swooping again.

Hampson returned to the surf club for a job today and said the bird had found him within 30 seconds and did not hesitate to attack.

Matthew Wilson was enjoying a day at the park with his family when Hitbird swooped him too, making contact and slicing his head open.

“I was just walking past when he’s come after me,” the Coomera man said.

“He got me good, I was bleeding pretty badly from my head.

“He didn’t seem to want anyone else — maybe he doesn’t like men.”

Summary...
Bulldogs finish 13th in 2015 and win the Flag in 2016 kicking 13.11.89.
Richmond finish 13th in 2016 and win the Flag in 2017 kicking 16.12.108.
Our 1990 winning score was 13.11.89
Our 2010 winning score was 16.12.108.
We finished 13th in 2017....

Just got swooped by 2 angry magpies (not 1, 2!) riding my mountain bike in Warrandyte.

Omen? I'd like to think so; it at least gives a reason to the fear I experienced.

Fake news. Everyone thinks the Bullsogs finished 13th in 2015, but they didn’t. Hahaha

Every knock out final of 2018 has been between teams where one team had a 100% strike rate over the other team during the season and then lost the elimination final.

So week 1:
Geelong v Melbourne - Geelong beat Demons twice in 2018...lost
Sydney v GWS - Sydney beat GWS twice in 2018...lost

Week 2:
GWS v Collingwood - GWS beat Collingwood once in 2018...lost
Hawthorn v Melbourne - Hawthorn beat Melbourne once in 2018...lost

Week 3:
Richmond v Collingwood - Richmond beat Collingwood twice in 2018...lost
Melbourne v West Coast - Melbourne beat West Coast once in 2018...lost

Week 4:
West Coast v Collingwood - West Coast beat Collingwood twice in 2018...?

Also since the AFL went to a final 8 there has been four or five times that the Grand Final teams also met in a qualifying final in the same finals series. In all previous occasions the Grand Final has been won by the team that lost the qualifying final.

I had a mate who, while we were travelling overseas, dreamed that the 1977 grand final would finish in a draw.
Now speaking of omens... 1958 to 1990 = a gap of 32 years. 1990 to 2010 = a gap of 20 years. Next gap due of 8 years takes us to...
But then what will it be next time? Apocalypse happens, space time continuum torn apart, we go back in time and win it 4 years ago?

The last time we won the flag it was 7 years after playing in losing Grand Final.

In 2009 the club debated the future of the senior coach and it lead to the succession plan.

In 2017 the club debated the future of the senior coach and it lead to a wide ranging review.

Michael Malthouse coached Collingwood and West Coast.

Over the last 51 years only one single coach out of 24 in Malthouse has lead a side to 4 consecutive non finals appearances and gone on to become a first time Premiership coach.

Nathan Buckley can become the 2nd coach to do so against a team Malthouse guided to his first ever flag.

Seems like fate to me.

1990 Scott Russell played every game on debut.
2018 Jayden Stephenson played every game on debut.

On that........I wonder how many 18 year old draftees have played every game on debut and won a flag?

Stevo wouldnt be the first but he'd be in an elite club of less than 5 I'd guess.....
