Re: Omg

Unfortunatly I can't even see us beating Essendon.

At home yeah, but in Melbourne, i'm thinking another L. :(

____en piece of shit ____en game plan ____en sydney plays. ____en bullshit decision making. bullshit team letting a 36 point deficit get eaten up. ____en misses on goal!!!!!!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

end vent.

A few things first of all, wtf was up with the free at the end? should it have been given? Second of all, how quick is davis? i just saw him running all night. his a f**** lightining bolt!

in the long term we could potentially be better with the loss. lower on the ladder means better chance of getting rich! they played a brilliant game all the way to the end. a good loss.

Maybe I'm the only one without this freaking Rich obsession

How about let's hope we keep showing the same attitude as we did tonight and acknowledge the efforts of the guys we've already got, instead of jibbering on and on with slobbering tongues hanging out for someone who could very well turn out to be a total dud anyway.

We're only just half-way into this season you know ?

dude if you look back on my post it says could, meaning that if all doesnt go well, then we could potentially have a back up plan in rich. i aint slobbering over it, im looking at a possible future.

Whatever. The point was really people talking about bloody draft picks, whoever they might be. That sucks :thumbsd:

And Emo09, I wasn't copying your thoughts, it's just that you type quicker than me ! :)

Given how competitive we were against Sydney in the clearances, we should smash Essendon.

Re: Omg

Selwoods kicking was just as bad.
Coughed up 2 goals through bad decision making and atrocious kicking

His whole job was to hold up Goodes (who's arguably the best AFL player in the comp) and I think he did a pretty damn good job. Anything more than tagging him is just a bonus. Would have been great to see him put the salt in the wounds of Goodes who is surely going to cop a 3 week suspension.

...

I have no words to express what I feel atm.

I do..i have two.

Deflated & Disappointed.

So much promise and then to let it go in the end like that was just disappointing, players couldn't settle themselves down and ended up becoming too defensive and when we looked like becoming the offensive side again, they'd rush it too much and make bad decisions. I guess that's what you get and what I should expect but to be so close, when we were expected to get thrashed (i even predicted 89pts iirc), it was a bit of a let down and a "how did that happen?" kind of feeling at the end. Like I said..I was left feeling deflated and disappointed.

On Daniel Rich...

Totally off the 'get Rich quick' bandwagon - not that i was ever really on it. Tonight I wanted nothing more than to see our guys give it a real good crack and take pride in themselves and the footy club, which they did for most of the night and i tell you what, I was hungry for that win. I think a good draft pick is something we need to move forward, but at the same time, I just want to see the boys play like they did in that first half of tonight, the 2nd adelaide game, the kangas game, even the brisbane game and pull off a win every now and then. I couldn't give two shits if we finish in between 10 and 13 and the draft pick is slightly lower if it means we kick the winning score a couple more times - I want to see the boys honour the jumper and take pride in themselves and their ability. That's all I care about. Enough of this tanking talk. Having said that, I'd still like to get more games into our youngsters.

PS: never heard so much swearing from eagles supporters walking from the oval to the car after a loss. :p

I was swearing my friggen arse off in the last quarter! And I usually hold myself back cos of the kiddies haha Bloody Sydney. Does anyone else get sooo damn frustrated by their boring, "flood/hold up the play/chippie chippie" crap!

Oh well, we lost.

Our season is over anyway. Don't get me wrong, nothing would've made me happier than to see us win tonight but at the very least, it's not like we're fighting for a finals spot. Season's been over for a while now and I'm more keen to see the improvement in our younger guys, also I want to know who from our playing group actually wants to be at the club next year.

Disappointed yes but I'm hardly going to fly off the handle about it. We'll be much improved next year with the game time we're getting into our new blokes, who are showing a hell of a lot of promise.

Sucks for now but exciting times are ahead :thumbsu:

Re: Omg

Cox, Butler, Hunter x2, all missed set shots from straight in front 30m out.

Sydney had these chances and drilled them.

We lost the game - Sydney didnt win it.

Most of the Eagles' supporters have been great tonight, and you're usually a pretty fair poster, but I find the whole "We lost, Sydney didn't win" theory to be really disrespectful.

Sydney kicked 6 goals to 3 in the last quater and did the hard stuff when it mattered most. They definitely won the game, but the Eagles were amazing tonight.

Do you mean as disrespectful as every Sydney player interviewed after the match that said "we played so bad", giving no credit whatsoever to the Eagles? That sort of disrespectful? Dunstall jumped in at the end and said "I don't think we're giving enough credit to the eagles for that first half", so he obviously picked up on it.

Re: Omg

We'll kill the Dons - no Hird (against us), no Essendon :)

id be more concern in containing lucas and lloyd

theyve thrown kitchen sink full of goals at wce

despite their form, they could be due...

mcveigh should also be kept an eye on

yep, exactly :D

That's how DA manages to redefine 'disrespectful'... it's got to do with the Sydney water I'm told, and it's fatal

Great job by Your team:thumbsu: Played out the game when necessary.

Re: Omg

Ben Mckinley would have NAILED those chances hunter got. Seriously, f*** hunter. Not the answer at FF and isnt great at CHB, with spangher and wilkes soon to overtake him. Trade him i say.

harsh after one game

give him about a month to settle in FF to learn and understand how the forward structure works.

lynch was at FF for ~4 years and he still doesnt understand how to lead like a true FF.

with CHB cemented by wilkes (all agree?) hunter needs to be useful in the foward line else trade him. we wont get anything more than a late 2nd rounder in my opinion. thats why we should give him a shot @ FF - its the year to do it.

bit biased are we?

should be cleared, if anything 1 week with the carry on points he has over his head.

if your going to give 3 weeks to goodes, how much are you goin to give stengleins hit on goodes?

Re: Omg

Lloyd ?? You're kidding, right ?

Lucas ? - Wilkes will own him, if he gets the chance.

Heck, Essendon will be so easy they'll probably bring back Ash just for some lazy game time :)
