Compares Judd's tackle to a rioli tackle and suggest that he tried the same tactic. Absolutely incomparable and a disgraceful effort to unfairly smear rioli by the clowns on this show.

Chip 'The bloke formerly known as Gerard Healy' is easily the most outdated footy host in afl right now. Imagine if he and KB started a radio program together. It could be called the Steve price hour. If text book tackling from rioli is similar to what Juddy did, it's time to stop the afl, call it TAFL (touch) and bring out the 'flags'

Hit the rewind button to try and see what happened. How on earth could they come up with that rubbish and insinuate that Cyril was doing the same thing that Judd did. Disgraceful. I wonder how that footage suddenly surfaced two weeks after the game. A disgruntled Carlton supporter or did it come from the club to try and take the heat off Judd? I've probably been watching too many conspiracy theory movies but, crikey, that was outrageous on the couch tonight.

Sorry but I agree with them. Rioli is an expert at the chicken wing tackle and while it's a brilliant tackling method I think it's dangerous.

What Judd did was identical to what Rioli does but Judd executed it unnecessarily to a defenceless opponent, same action, different context.

Cyril definitely grabs at whatever the hell he can in a tackle - loves grabbing the wrist of his opponent to prevent a handball or legal disposal.

Still haven't seen Rioli go up to a pack after a ball up has been called, grab the wrist of the guy at the bottom then twist it up to the roof in an attempt to injure.

But yeah - they're both arm grabs so go for it - make your dickhead comparisons.

How is it identical? quite a different position Judd done a dog act and rioli tackles in a contest. Judd really needs to stick to rubbing soap on the boys in the shower rather than trying to be tough on the field. 6 weeks, nothing less.

Bit rough on Steve Price. You should go to 2GB for a podcast.

I'm not arguing that one isn't a dog act, I'm saying there is similarities to what Rioli does and what Judd did. Both of them put pressure on the arm, one of them appears to be to win a free kick and sadly for Judd I can't think of another reason for his other than to hurt Adams.

I'm completely gob smacked!!!

my point exactly rioli should enter a defamation claim against these fools

I know what you mean and, yes, it could be quite dangerous. But to the best of my knowledge that type of tackle isn't illegal. Anyway, what I took offense at was the fact that they pulled out this example as some sort of comparison to what Judd did. It's a bit like showing Jono Brown getting a broken cheek bone in a marking contest and comparing it Barry Hall snotting that West Coast bloke. Just a ridiculous comparison.

You have got to be kidding me. If rioli grabs an opponents arm in a tackle it is to force incorrect disposal - there is no intent for injury which is exactly what they were insinuating.

They should apologise to Rioli on next week's show, though we are talking about some of the most unaccountable commentators in the game so there is no chance of that.

Sorry I think I may have missed the point. I didn't see the Couch but I assumed the panel were simply comparing the actions in an attempt to possibly explain Judd's action. If however the panel used the comparison to defame Rioli then yes that is very low.

The Sydney Swans show also known as the couch is just a ridiculous show. That pog face gremlin Gerard Healy is one of the great losers of AFL.

Rioli is one of the fairest players around. He tackles when players have the ball. Insane comparison.

I'll go see this guy immediately in the morning as i'm agreeing with your post again.

I saw this and thought it was an absolute disgrace to try and divert heat off their lovechild.... pi$$ poor effort to try and paint Rioli with the same brush as that dirty Judd!
I can tell you he copped it on talk radio in melbourne this morning and deservedly so.

Happened a few times this year some other club is put up for something unsavory and they somehow link it to what Cyril or Buddy have done.
Buddy with the sling tackle debate and Cyril with running head on into contests and now this.

Obviously I Didn't see On The Couch, but I did see Judd's tackle last week. How can anyone compare it to the way Cyril tackles. He tackles when players are on their feet, not trapped face down at the bottom of a pack. Admittedly, Cyril grabs the wrist to limit the options, and play for an incorrect decision free. Judd grabbed Adams' arm in a wrestling hold and twisted it.

HFC should at least make it known how they feel about this comparison, and at the very least demand an apology from ultra ego Healy, or even threaten going him for deformation.

Is it me, or do many of the so called experts hate Hawthorn?

With Walls out of the picture I was hoping most of this Bull would stop, but it appears Healy has stepped into his shoes in order to keep the unsociable tag going.

Didn't see the show so can't really comment, but seriously... Judd "winged" the bloke after he was pinned on the ground with another Carlton defender all over his back. How on earth can you compare that with anything to do with a tackle?
