Yeah it’s bad. Once a fire reaches a certain point it spreads in seconds. Another really horrifying one is footage in a nightclub taken in the US about 15 years ago, with the footage inside the venue of a fire resulting from Pyrotechnics. People just stand there transfixed staring at the fire and its those seconds really what determine who will live and die. The ones who sense danger move straight away and by doing that they avoid the inevitable crush at the exits. Those who think they’ve got time don’t realise the thing just spreads from one end of the room to another once it reaches the ceiling. It’s really important on this sort of thing because one day you or a member of your family could be in a similar situation

That was horrifying. Thing is it was so avoidable. Dilapidated old wooden stand with rubbish turfed underneath it by spectators. Of course it was going to go up in flames quickly when someone tossed a cigarette butt under there. No sprinklers, no safety precautions, nothing.
