The one day season with the reigning minor premiers and runners up Fremanlte under the new nickname of Ballbreakers hosting the Geelong Gumbies inside the walls of Fremantle Prison. The Gumbies had a very disappointing 2006 season but under their new captain they will be looking for a big improvement and a match against the dominant team of 2006 will be a great test for the Gumbies whilst Fremantle after coming so close in 2006 will be looking to go 1 better in 2007 and wont want to drop the 1st home game of the season

Pitch due by Tuesday by 20:00, teams by 20:00 Wednesday

Maybe I should ask - What difference does a pitch make?

If any Fremantle BallBreaker comes on, you may change anything I do...I'm just doing this for Round 1 as all our leaders are gone for the week and won't return until Round 2/3

Batting pitch usually produces high scores and succesful run chases

Bowlers pitch should produce lower scores and sometimes the team batting first gets out cheaply and the chaser cruises to the target

Normal can be anything

Random pitch can also be chosen which will be one of the 3

Fremantle are a decent side, but their main weakness over the last season was winning. With new boys Skywalk, Alkaline and Ricketts all set to debut a batters wicket is a pleasing choice from the Ballbreakers, and we look set to get off to a good start to the season.

Here is Geelong's round 1 team (selected by Catman).

New caps go to Fugsy, Davey_Magik, Alkaline and Ricketts while all-rounder Donk stays on after sending a scare through the camp during the off season when he walked out.

Cats2rise makes the change to a pure all rounder while after good pre-seasons Skywalk750 and Jim Boy can both consider themselves unlucky. Competiton for spots in this team will be hot!

Incredible buzz in Geelong land surrounding this match. Stoked to be starting, as pressure on positions is intense.
Just a pity Portentous has more balls then anyone else in the Freo side, as I was looking forward to doing a bit of ball breaking myself.

The first part of conflict from mister mutiny: Two specialist number 3 batsmen. This should be interesting...for me that is :)
I'm sh*t at one day cricket so i'm more than happy to slot in anywhere which has a free spot. Hopefully i can find a permanent spot and perform better this season than last.

Wait, whats this?
No jnr in the team? One of the better bats we had last year aswell as one of the only regular posters.. whats going on?
Fair to say Ricketts gets the nod ahead of ablettjnr on name alone, hence the competition for spots being so hot, skywalk cant get a gig in the side either and he averages better than everyone I think.
