Brian Lake circa 2007, 08, 09.
He was by far the best Backman in the league over these years (yes including Scarlett). Think McGovern only twice as good.

Gary Dempsey would be a handy ruck
Superstar. At 197cm, one of the only rucks from last century remotely tall enough to ruck these days.
Andrew Pursar was only 193cm!

Grant now.

Fixes our key back issues or goes forward and sends Naughton back. Either way turns a promising spine into a deadly one.

Otherwise probably ‘06 Johno. We’d have made a lot more of our f50 entries with him in there. Hate to say it, but ‘08 Aker could also fit pretty nicely.

Of the players I have seen play, Grant. He can play forward or back key position at the elite level.

Of the players I haven’t seen, EJ obviously. Again he can play forward or back at the elite level.

Brad J for sure. Put him in a forward line with Bruce, Dale and Naughton and we’d be looking unstoppable up forward

Post trade period, it simply has to be Dougie. Sews up the second wing spot, great overhead for his height, skilled on both sides of his body and so, so smart on field.
