The one player, that I believe deserves a huge pat on the back at the Kangaroos is Jason McCartney. When he first arrived at his 3rd club, he copped a lot of abuse from his own supporters, however he stuck at it and has become a very pivtol part of our backline. The way he conducted himself after the disappointment of 99 is a credit, which has also seen him win our Best Clubman Award for the past 2 years.

Bluey McKenna for being a brilliant player, incredible mentor and leader and playing on through excruciating pain for his club.

Frodo, I may have diagreed with you on a few things recently, but on this one, I couldn't agree with you more! Bluey is and will always be a legend of the club. Thank god we were able to keep him at the club after his retirement.

Dont know about a pat on the back but i would give Jason McCartney a big hug to make the dissapointment of 99 all go away.
I still love ya Jase!!

Hmmmmm

Shane Woewodin for his great effort in being picked up in the pre season draft and playing every game since Round 1 1997 and winning a Brownlow in the process.
Another is David Schwarz to be playing footy again after all his injury troubles.

Well said Frodo. I'm proud to say I have met Guy McKenna once back in 1993 but I might be a little afraid to pat his back now since he's had so many problems with it. I'll stick to a simple handshake.

Darren "mean" Mead, he is Port Adelaide through and through

Anthony Stevens.

I agree with some other posters. Jason McCartney and his determination to prove himself at his 3rd and last club for a fantastic effort throughout the entire 2000 season.

dees 01 thank you for helping me make up my mind.
i think that schwarta and woey defenetly deserve a pat on the back as does junior.
schwarta for over coming his injuries and this terrible childhood to became one of melbourne's leading man.
woey for being such a hard worker and never giving up and of course for winning the brownlow
and junior for his incredable courage and strangth to overcome such an awful injury so soon into his career.
generaly i think i would like to congratulate all the mfc players who took part in the fantastic 2000 season.
well done boys!

there are certain things in this world that will make you angry. what i say might be one of them...
The Mighty Melbourne Demons- Legends of the game!

This is tough, Wayne Campbell. Not because he is my favourite player but because he no longer gives up. He is a changed man and i congratulate him on changing his life around after the proposed 'walkout' on the club. It was an emotional time for him but he managed to sort out his life and ever since, he has been playing great footy exactly how he used to.

I can't chose between 2 at my club:

Michael Voss - and incredible person, has time for everyone and anyone. Played thru a whole season with a 12 inch steel rod in his leg that did nothing but ache the whole time. In 1999, before he would have even known he was about to become a father, he tried to donate a 4 figure amount to the Childrens Hospital Appeal anonymously, they worked out who D&M Voss were on the pledge and rang him, he was so embarresed. This year he did the same sort of donation, but learnt his lesson, he turned off his mobile phone after making the pledge, they couldn't get him on the air on the radio after that. I have never ever seen the man ignore a fan that has called out to him or wanted to shake his hand, no matter how busy he was at the time.

Shaun Hart - an unsung hero both on and off the field. His commitment to life is the same as his commitment to the game. He works tirelessly all the time to get the best results. He was one of the 'red frog' army at Schoolies Week on the Gold Coast this year, looking out for the teenagers, helping those they found that needed it, and even those that didn't. A man whose belief in his faith permiates every part of his life, a great role model.

Well I reckon Menschy deserves a pat on the back for taking so much crap from his own supporters and still putting in 100%.
My prick nephew reckons Glenn Bowyer deserves one for a never give up attitude, but I reckon stuff him, he's not a cat.

"call this an unfair generalisation if you must, but old people suck at
everything"

James Hird for coming back from injury that kept him out of the game for 3 years and having a stellar Y2K, winning the ANZAC Medal, Norm Smith Medal and captaining a premiership side, thus proving once and for all that he is a champion.

Too many from my club

1. Simon Black- just a champion in the making.

2.Chris Johnson- the 2000 seaosn, he was sooooo nice to me, i love him for it

3. Michael Voss- what danni said

just basically the whole team

GO LIONS!

For me it would deffinately have to be Paul Kelly, i'm so proud of him the way the last couple of years he's had really bad knee injuries and yet he still gets back out on the field and plays the best football ever,
YOU GO PAULL KELLY!!!

cheer cheer the red and the white, honor the name by day and by night

Andrew McKay for managing to combine vet studies and top-notch football. Brett Ratten for being a star player despite playing for years on instinct when he couldn't see what was happening beyond the centre square. I think I'll call him Luke Skywalker as he was definitely using the force!

John Blakey, Jason McCartney and John Longmire (even though he's not playing anymore)

And also Pat Rafter if I could for being a top bloke
