The performance of COLZILLA!!!!!!!!!

Now if he can start to play like that each week, we actually might have a bit of hope for next year

22 touches, 9 marks, 5 inside 50's and the most efficent kicks for the Demons

Definately looked better playing behind the ball (wing/half back). He just doesn't get enough of it in the forward line. He has decent skills, is a very good marker and tackler. Can definately use someone like that in the back/middle of the paddock.

However, his intensity needs to lift. He needs to be a real livewire around the ball. We know he is quick and strong, but too often he seems to go half-paced at some contests.

oz must be up there but regardless sylvia was simply outstanding in defence, could that be why he hasnt reached his "potential" yet coz we keep thinking he is an attacker or a midfielder

and for gods sakes leave the man miller in the front half, 3 positions should be placed NOW, neitz in back miller in front and davey in middle (was awesome in clearances)

I liked the look of Wonaeamirri too. Here's hoping you can find a spot for him on the list, my hot tip for most consistently mispelt name on Bigfooty over the next ten years

If we could get him to drop the 'a' and the 'e' out it would be much better. I'll just call him Aussie anyway. He's a certainty at the moment to be elevated at the end of the year.

He can't do it consistantly though. The amount of times i've been on this board over the past 2 years and heard "Oh, Col got 20 possessions, if he can do it regularly he'll be a star."

The simple fact is he doesn't do it regularly and i don't think he can do it regularly.

Didn't see any of the game today but this pleases me alot (as does the performance of Davey and Wonna and Miller getting reported). The most pleasing thing is him being moved to the backline. We need more class down there and if Col struggles to find the ball more than 15 times in the forward line then the backline is a great idea. I won't get too excited because we have seen great games from him before (about 2 a season for the last 3 years) but the backline bit is what excites me.

I like our backline. I actually do. It's just no help when the ball comes down there every five seconds. Rivers is godlike, Carroll is workmanlike and Whelan will always be good. Bell is good (kicking in aside) and Wheatley gets it even if he does nothing with it.

If only our midfield could hit a target we might go alright. Then there's the issue of the forward line being a shambles but that's for another day.

We need at least two first round picks next year even if it means trading a Sylvia or (gasp) McLean for one - and to draft a stud KPP forward if available. Newton is ok but he'll never be a Franklin or a vintage era Neitz. We need a big bastard up front to do the job.

He was alright, got a lot of Robbo-like cheap possessions when the game was over though.

The big question mark has always been on his consistency, not his talent though. We can start getting excited if he backs it up next week.

If we could get ahold of Natanui, and trade off for another early pick, there are big wraps for the WA kid Daniel Rich. Could be a long term answer to our forward problems, considering this time next year our forward line will be working as smooth as Paul Wheatley on the dancefloor.

(Note: For those questioning my anology, thats not very smooth at all.)

Daniel Rich is like a 185 cm midfielder. Michael Hurley is the one your thinking of and could be the answer to our KPF/KPB dreams. However Daniel Rich has an unbelieveable amount of hype around him at the moment, the most that i could ever remember for a 17/18 year old and is easily the best player from this years draft

My bad. Either either, we gotta start thinking seriously about our forward lines future. Unless we give up on Dunn being a midfeilder and sit him and Bate as our new targets with Robbo and Neitz pinch-hitting.

If we're going to draft more midfielders in the top 5 then we've got to try and flog one of our other midfielders for a relatively high pick and use it on a KPP. No good having 5000 midfielders and no forward or backline.

Worked for West Coast. If only we could somehow instil a drug-cultrue at our club we're on our way to a flag!!

If we win 3 games or less, we'll get two top 5 picks (depends on how Carlton and Richmond go) and two 18-20 picks?

If we were able to offload a current player in a trade, we'd end up with about five picks in the top 20.

No we won't get 2 top 5, we'll get what Richmond had last year, in 1st pick then priority pick which is after the first round, at 17. Of course if Richmond and Carlton decide that the season isn't worth it, they both have claims to the no 1 pick if they win less than 5 games.

Had we lost to the Blues last year, we would have been primed for the first 2 picks of the year, and a more positive future.

But if we win 8 games or less over two seasons, like Carlton did in 2006-07, don't we get two top picks, plus a priority pick at the end of Round 1 for winning 4 games or less this season?

I thought it was less than 4 1/2 in each year, not cumliative. I may be wrong, but with my understanding it wouldn't be until next year that we would get the first pick as a priority. And they way the league is going, we may not even get that as those picks would be reserved for Gold Coast. What a time to be shit.

Edit:
