The fact Burns was singled out and then named in the A side is a key thing. Pucovski only needs a half decent score and he's in

Love the Pucovski selection, they haven’t rushed it and he’s just knocked the door down. Reminds me a lot of the Phil Hughes days (RIP) and I just expect him to have an immediate impact.

We’ve finally got some consistent batting talent coming through to compliment our list of quality fast bowlers.

Yeah, it looks like they're backing Pucovski in while being circumspect with Green.

If this was a weaker side, such as maybe PAK, they'd probably debut both, but against a side like India they were probably wise to err on the side of caution and lean towards Test experience and the incumbency rule (Wade placing higher in both regards than Burns).

Not questioning Pucovski at all (think he’s the real deal tbh) but I’m sceptical on the amount of batting talent tbh. Seems to have been a lot 500+ scores early on in the shield. Outside of Pattinson, Neser and Abbott most of the best quicks in the country seem to be either injured or playing IPL.

I’m sorry but when I see Marcus Harris and Shaun Marsh scoring big runs and players like Abbott and Neser being talked about as all rounders (good bowlers but genuinely no. 8s at best) then I can’t help but think that runs are propped up by playing on a bunch of roads to to start the season.

Shaun and Harris have been pretty consistent scorers in FC for a while regardless of conditions.

A handy 36 and 2/45 in the A match and Mitchy will come roaring back in to contention for the Sydney test when they decide to give Swepson a crack.

Harris is 28 - with 9 years of cricket ahead of him - premature to think he couldn't yet make it.

I wouldn't have him in the frame at the moment.

Hope Harris has improved his fielding too. It’s what has held Khawaja back.

thats probably a fair assessment that warner would give one form of the game away soon rather than later.

he may be able to sneak over the line to 100 tests and have a similar test record as haydos.

I disagree, I think he'll want to go to the next World Cup. Maybe he makes it to the Test Championship game if it ends up getting held, but that'll be in England where he's been useless. Will want to go out on a high.
