Burns playing is actually unbelievable, you could pick every other opener in state cricket over him at the moment and you’d be better off. The guy is so horrendously out of form and confidence it’s not funny.

Only because Starc was rested (which was beyond dumb!). As if we aren't playing our best pink ball bowler. If Starc bowls rubbish in Adelaide by all means play Pattinson in Melbourne. He gets the conditions he excels at in Adelaide but he's no moral for the whole series, needs to perform. The other two are our best two quicks by a mile.

Hazelwod gives us variety as a tall bowler who can bowl long spells you need that. Would easily be the second picked behind Cummins. Starc gets the first test, it's a pink ball test and the bloke is elite at them. However if he doesn't bowl well drop him for Melbourne, no issues.

So we have a guy averaging almost 70 over the last 3 shield seasons as an opener who got 91 runs at 30 in the lead up games on tricky wickets.

But we don't pick him and instead go for a guy who has never opened in first class cricket in his life to partner a guy who has scored 61 runs at under 7 this season. That's insane and Harris should be disgusted.
