Of course we make no changes to the bowlers

But Harris should slaughter Saini Shiraz and whoever they roll out

Can’t believe Starc keeps his spot. Lyon I get but come on Starc really?

If Harris does well here, I could see him holding his place for South Africa and Pucovski coming in at 5 in place of Wade.
He should do well against a weakened attack (if he doesn't, stamp his papers permanently). I wouldn't have much confidence in him performing against South Africa but, of course, happy to be proven wrong. I just see him as another Cameron White type who is an excellent FC player but just doesn't quite have what it takes to succeed at the highest level.

Hopefully Starc and Lyon do better than the 3-320 odd they got in Sydney or we won't be able to get the result we need.

Harris is a good shield player average international player, very weakened attack might mean he goes pretty well.

Harris’ last Test hopefully.

It gets ignored because of the stuff ups that came later but him throwing the ball to the far end when a simple throw to the logical and closer striker’s end would have seen Stokes run out and the Test won. Still annoys me no end. Dumb, dumb cricket.

I’d have shifted Wade back to open and Head back in first. And I’ve made my feelings on Head pretty clear this series too haha.

He also shat himself under a skied Stokes high ball with about 15 runs to win which meant he had to dive for it and subsequently dropped it. He certainly won't be improving our already pretty poor fielding by being brought in.

certainty have it in for Harris don’t you carbine :)

I know He dropped the ashes but does this stem from when he left WA?

langer and Harris both have a history but there is no doubting the lad has talent

I don't think he is overly that bad compared to what some critics say.

He was the highest run scorer in the last Indian tour of Australia in 2018 for Australia and he seems like the perfect short-term like to like option to replace Warner when he does retire or get injured for an extended period unlike chucking Wade as opener this series who tbh has never opened before in his life

The issue I have for the future of Australian Cricket is when Warner does indeed retire in the test arena, who would be leading contenders to open the batting as I am really cautious on Pucovski as I know he can score heavily but how much is too much given his concussion history at 22 and there really isn't anyone else knocking on that door heavily from the Sheffield Shield to open.

Both fair posts.

I see him as the cricket equivalent of a Ryan Murphy. Just not cut out for it at the next level long term.

In spite of my complaints he’s the logical selection for the next Test. I just want him out as soon as Puck is back, which I’m sure will be the case.

Absolutely laughable that Paine's mate Wade keeps his spot. One of the more undeserving selections in the last five years and we have had a fair few of those. The guys gets out playing stupid shots, doesn't value his wicket, can't make many runs and even when he does he can't convert into a big score.

I am not a huge fan of Harris but not against him coming in. Tough for him given his lack of actual match practice.

Having said that I feel this test just about everyone will get runs against a weakened attack which I think will give some a false impression of where we are at.

its not all doom and gloom Warner still has a few years left plus you have whiteman having a good season as an opener burns still has a future usman can open plus we have will and Harris opening this test

heaps of options stay positive :)
