What happens if Burns fails again and Harris and Maddinson make runs?

Green being overlooked would be an all time howler. He's clearly earned it and is more talented than the alternatives/incumbents.

Surely it won't happen?

Green should play. It's just how Australia juggle who opens out of Wade, Head and Lab to fit him in.

They probably want green to get more bowling in before playing him in a test match to see if his body will hold up. He’s also never played a pink ball game, getting some experience in the A game would be handy

There's word about they may wait until Sydney (3rd test) to unleash Green and possibly also play Swepson there, resting one of the quicks.

In any case Cummins, Hazlewood and Starc home ground is the SCG.

Head who scored two 150+ scores to single-handedly save South Australia from outrights on two occasions this year?

I mean if we're picking Green off his great shield form, which we should, then we need to do the same for Head.

It's bloody obvious.

Wade should open with Harris (Burns just no), Lab at 3, then Smithy, Head and Green dog at 6.

Plenty of players in the past have not been selected on outstanding shield form. Head is not the answer, its his mode of dismissal that is the issue and it looks like its something he hasn't fixed. I am not even remotely close to a Wade fan either but if you asked me who I was more confident in batting in a test match its Wade over Head.

How often does an incumbent get dropped off outstanding Shield form though? Never.

Can't drop either of them on form.

If Green is to be included it will require a reshuffle of the batting order to accommodate him. The difficult decision will come when Warner is fit to return to the team.

I know, right?

I actually pressed someone else who made that comment about the particular dismissal they didn't like (waft outside off and caught in the deep), and he'd been dismissed in that way exactly twice. But they were in the same match, so it stuck in the mind.

I have the same opinion of Head as I did of Lyon when he was first getting going - he's nothing special but he gets the job done.
