I like Maxi. But he isn't an opener. I suppose Paine and Wade could open together. Maxwell at 5-7?

Doubtful, but I wouldn't be completely against it.

The only way Maxwell could play and sadly he will never will be selected for test cricket again is in the all rounders position if Green is not fit.I hope Maxi gets the chance to play the last half of the shield season to push his claims for test cricket but I presume the 1 day/T20 circus might prevent that as well.

He'll be in there in the second over anyway if Burns plays. Or the first if Burns takes strike.

We're basically starting the first test at 2 for nothing really given our options, although Harris sure isn't the worst option going around.

I wonder if our quicks will be allowed to bowl to their tail the way the Indians quicks bowled to the 2nd XI Aussie tail. That'd be fun.

Just play him at number 2 then. Will probably face his 1st ball later that way

I think Lyon plays in Adelaide.

Is it just a case of whoever opens in this test is a sitting duck and will be dropped for the next test regardless with Warner and Pucovski back?

Maybe Pucovski will have to wait a longer.

No way on Earth does Lyon miss out. If they play Green then Patto misses and vice versa. I think what you've got there is right, and I think Patto will be 12th.

I think we're an opener short but we don't have another one anywhere near good enough. I'd open with Lab, as I said before he'd be there quickly anyways. If they try another opener then probably Green misses too rather than Wade.

My average when facing the first ball is still higher than Joe Burns this season But if Harris will take the first ball, my average is higher than his test average!

ashes 2019 all 4 quicks were fit throughout the whole series. they never played in the same test though.

We took 6 quicks with Neser and Siddle (who even played ahead of some of the big 4)

1st test: Lyon, Cummins, Pattinson, Siddle - OUT Hazlewood/Starc/Neser
2nd test: Lyon, Cummins, Hazelwood, Siddle - OUT Pattinson/Starc/Neser
3rd test: Lyon, Cummins, Hazlewood, Pattinson- OUT Siddle/Starc/Neser
4th test: Lyon, Cummins, Hazlewood, Starc - OUT Pattinson/Siddle/Neser
5th test: Lyon, Cummins, Hazlewood, Siddle - OUT Pattinson/Starc/Neser
