I flipping hope not! Just open with Burns or Wade and be done with it.
I still think it's more likely that they send Wade up the order, given the short term nature of it. With Warner and/or Pucovski likely for Boxing Day, I'd be surprised if they shifted the whole batting order for one test. Wade as opener keeps that middle order looking really strong.

Not Burns rather Wade. Burns needs to be dropped for his own mental well being

I'd be happy with Wade and it makes it easier in the second test. Can just get rid of Wade for Warner.

I'm sticking Paine up the top for one test. He has the technique for it to do a job and even if he goes early you don't feel like it's a big loss. Wade hasn't opened in FC cricket before and Labuschagne opening risks exposing Smith to the new ball and being on the back foot straight away. I'd pick:

A keeper opening in a test match is bad enough...but the captain too! Dead set a million to 1 for this occurring.
Opening with Marnus, Paine or any other stopgap is just crazy. Don't create more problems trying to fix one.

People desperate to ensure Labuschagne doesn’t join a long list of no3s who successfully made the step up to opening.
No, it’s far better to bring up your no5 who’s never opened in first class cricket because they want him to fail

Because Labuschagne belongs at 3, Burns is a walking duck, Warner is injured, Pucovski is injured, Harris is almost certainly the first opener and any other opener in the country isn't in the Test squad. Ergo, Wade, who has opening experience in international matches, gets promoted for this one match.
