Thanks Hansie.I wouldn't mind putting 100 gorillas on either Wade or Burns getting dismissed first ball.

Pant’s keeping is generally fine. It’s nowhere near bad enough to keep him out of a side.
Saha is a very good keeper though, yes.
Me and a mate have a first 3x rounds of beers on Boxing Day going for an over and under Burns runs in the test tomorrow. I’ve gone under 29.5 he’s taken the overs. I kinda feel bad, but happy with my bet

Sure it wasn't the series? Probably still safe thoughMe and a mate have a first 3x rounds of beers on Boxing Day going for an over and under Burns runs in the test tomorrow. I’ve gone under 29.5 he’s taken the overs. I kinda feel bad, but happy with my bet
If Burns has an ordinary test record averaging 38 runs and 4 tons, what would you call someone averaging 24 with no tons? Dogshit???Nobody is saying Harris is perfect or a star. If we had a solid opening pair in decent form nobody would be demanding he be picked. But we're comparing him to a guy with an ordinary test record

Its like Christmas!!Happy Test match day gents.
You can use the reason that since being dropped he's had 1 ton and averaged ~30 in the Shield as a good argument that he's out of formJust can't see how they could pick Burns on that form and I just can't get my head around saying that we will back him in , he has a good record etc when Usman has a superior record as an opener in Australian conditions and you can't use the form excuse for not playing Ussie.
We getting a Test match thread going Gough?Happy Test match day gents.
Yep. This fascination to get Harris in is just a bit weird. He might have improved, haven’t seen enough this year to say either way but he hardly was glowing before, has a top score of 70 odd. Plus Burns is better in the field
off the table.Lol, keeping a guy who averages 6 across his last 9 innings, 1 in the practice matches against the team we are playing, and has only performed against New Zealand, the west Indies and SriLankan is not a good call. It’s a good call keeping Burns. This is a one test scenario since Warner will be back next match.
I’d rather we keep the better batsmen who’s in worse form (Burns) than put in someone who probably wouldn’t perform as well in the long run but is in (middling) form in Harris.
It would be different if Warner was out for the series but for 1 test it’s worth giving Burns the chance to find form and preserve what had been a successful Burns/Warner combo at the top. And if he doesn’t then it’s just a straight swap for Warner anyways next match.

Better form doesn't necessarily equate to good form.Compare Ussies form to Burns shield form???
