Online Lag ??????

Just started playing online and in some games i get really bad lag, where my players started 2 m in front and are beaten to the ball. I get tackled when im well clear and have the opposition just run away with the ball without even tackling me.

Some games are ok, but some are just unplayable and i get smashed. So it seems to me who wins is more about who has the better connection than who is a better player. Is this right ? and if so how can guys have good winning records and streaks ?

I have tried using a lan cable and having no other computers using the bet but it just seems to still happen randomly.

Is there anyway to fix this or is this game just not worth playing online?

It all comes down to yours, and your opponents connections. In this case im guessing its yours, what speed internet do you have? Go to www.speedtest.net and tell us the results.

You need to have reasonably bad internet for it to be a massive problem.

When you are playing is anyone else using the internet? Or are you downloading anything? Also if you have a wireless router, is it password protected to others cant use it with out your permission?

Do the internet settings test in the XMB. It'll tell you your download/upload speeds, as well as what NAT Type you are on. (should be NAT Type 1 or 2).

That's pretty slow, if you're on the same network on your mac as your PS3 that would explain it.
