Some people see racist views in just about anything and then complain when others don't agree with their very narrow view. Here is an example:

1. I have posted in the past that I do not like the actions of Adam Goodes, I am racist to some.

2. Yet I post how much I like and admire Eddie Betts.

The irony is I never saw skin color of players, I saw the color of their jumper. As people I look at their actions and how they conduct themselves. But if you are critical of someone who is aboriginal you are racist what is commonly refrerred to as the left. To be honest its just damn lazy, people who can't actually argue a point of view and respect another's opinion just use a label. The funniest thing is when they call you a 'bigot' because you have a different point of view:

definition of bigot: 'a person who is intolerant towards those holding different opinions'.

So yeah there are some with what are racist view but the mods take them out pretty quick, the problem is there are a lot of posters who basically cannot argue a point of view, cannot be factual and cannot treat alternate views with respect. They just call you a racist bigot. Comical.

I like to think it was 8 out of 10 Democrats and that a small percentage are rehabilitated behind bars.

Seems like a strange investment for Democrats to target that population demographic though, especially since their policies (3 Strike rule) put a lot of them in there in the first place. If anyone could win their vote it would be a Republican promising to revoke the law and retroactively apply it to their sentences. Need to actually give them the right to vote first of course, and that'll never happen.

The three strikes rule was a knee jerk reaction to the Ronald Reagan Era of the war on drugs. It was a shameful indictment on the democratic principles and it led to the mass incarceration of 1 million black people. It was one of the reasons why Hilary Clinton had so little support from the black community. The stripping of rights of people who go to jail is also a byproduct of slavery times. First segregation, then denial of government assistance and then laws designed to take African people back to cheap labour. Felony disenfranchisement is a loophole in the constitution that allows states to bar people from voting for any crime. The founders meant it for rebellions but it could be interpreted to mean any crime therefore it is hard to challenge in court. The US is the only country that does this and considering that it is strictly applied in Southern states it has been used to suppress black voting.

The Democrats under Clinton also enacted a law that saw refugees who hadn’t attained citizenship deported back to their “home” countries for committing felonies, despite some having never even lived in those countries and being unable to speak the language. I worked with some of these deportees and their stories were heartbreaking.

Yes, they sold their soul to get elected but look and it continues today. It started with Reagan declaring the war on drugs though and that was the first big spike of mass incarceration. Crime was actually dropping but then the CIA allowed drugs to be sold on the streets of the US which strengthened his case to crack down on drugs. Reagan also spent a large part of his life campaigning against Martin Luther King and refused to sign the bill that made hiss birthday a holiday. Congress passed the bill anyway on their own

I do tend to lean more to the left because support for the welfare of vulnerable groups and the environment is something I believe in. I think that we hide behind our groups and it doesn't always say what we believe in.
1. The dislocation of so many refugees over the years led to a crisis. If Angela Merkl didn't quickly take in a significant number (regardless of her motivations) Europe would have been in Chaos. She is a leader IMO
2. I believe that past actions have disadvantaged many groups, i.e. indigenous Australians, African Americans, Muslims who lost their homes..
3. I believe we are avoiding the impact that we have on our environment because we would rather let later generations sort it out.
4. I believe that a lot of people who support Trump like parts of his message. Some people like the push-back against political correctness. Others do not want the world to change because the current system suits them.
5. I do feel that if you are a Trump Supporter you should distinguish what you part of his policies or actions that you agree with. By rationalizing a few of his policies it could just continue to support an anti-immigrant, anti-environment stand. Let us debate policies rather than just having an orange racist pig as an avatar that can be scapegoated because he says wacky things every once in a while

Power freak 2008 dropping some atomic bombs in this thread.

Woke AF.
I don't think that examining what we are really saying is wrong. Nothing that I've said is new, the issues of racism often revolves around fear regarding these issues. And I do detest Trump because he doesn't really stand for anything and has muddied the waters for his own benefit

With footy on tonight, I'll move this to the Scandals and Rumours board as probably the best fit for this topic.
As painful as these topics are I think that it is healthy that there is a bit of discourse considering that over the last 3 years there has been bitter division in Us politics. As soon as the protests took place in streets throughout the US it triggered similar movements here. Now the UK and Australia are questioning their own past and wondering whether we should rename cities and take down statutes. I don't believe I have said anything that couldn't be fact checked easily. I am happy that Big Footy can also be self reflective.

People on the left side of social issues have been proven right by history. Without the left women would not have the vote and neither would minority groups.

Wow! I presume you are not aware that 110 million people were killed by Marxism (The Left) in the 20th Century!
In Cambodia for instance, back in only 1975, 2 million people were murdered in a peasant Marxist revolution. They shot people in the head if they looked educated and wore glasses! And you think that 'The Left' is always on the right side of history!

Merkel is a disgrace.

To allow 2 million unvetted North Africans into Europe, without asking the rest of Europe! was a humanitarian nightmare and a destabilizing catastrophy! There may not have been a Brexit if it was not for this absurd policy by her. The rest of Europe pays for the Germans trying to address their post war guilt. Crime rates escalated dramatically after this event and many many European women have been molested and r*ped. New Years Eve in Cologne Germany 2015 had 170 women assaulted and/or robbed in the very same town square at the same moment in time, including 2 rapes, by gangs of North African Muslim men. It is a fact, look it up and while you are at it look up reports and studies on the dramatic increase in crime in Europe since 2015.

1) Why weren't the masses booing him prior to him standing up for himself then? If all these people were apparently booing him for being dirty, where were they? Why the gap between his 'dirty' incidents and the booing?

2)He didn't make a stupid mistake. He did exactly the right thing.

Plenty of people were booing him before, then Goodes and the AFL said all those people who were booing him for Footy-related reasons were scumbag racists, and they were not allowed to boo Goodes anymore.

This upset a lot of people, and caused even more people to boo Goodes in protest. Protesting their right to boo whoever they want and to protest supporters being labelled racist for booing a player.

Arrogance and ignorance, nouns that are subjective depending on your politics, world view, intelligence, Skepticism and education
They were making statements that were OBJECTIVELY incorrect. Heck Aboriginal women in South Australia had the right to vote before virtually all women worldwide outside of South Australia. Nice piece of trivia there.

Not sure why you bothered to quote my post to add that waffle.
