Am hearing on TalkSport in the UK that one of the brit bid officials has learned that only two ExCo members actually read the technical reports that were handed over to FIFA- and they did so to inform their own bid committee.

Oy vey.....we know what they based the decision on.

By the way, the Poms are really whinging about missing out on 2018. With justifiable reason, IMO

The tabloids over there have really taken it badly.

But if what they say at Talkshite is true then it really is appaling.

Yep, the poms were fighting an alliance between the other bidders to get them knocked out in round one because they would have been unstoppable after round 1. Have a look at the voting break down - 2 voters who backed Belgium/Holland switched to Russia in round 2 after England got knocked out.

In 2022 Bin Hammam bullied all of the Asian voters into not supporting Australia, also made a deal with Ogura to ensure that Japan wouldn't go out first round for them "to save face".

I actually hope Australia meets Qatar in Asian Cup 2011 and we demolish them 8-0. Maybe then FIFA will realise what they have done.

Oh, and a big LOL @ Landon Donovan's twitter - how about we arrange a match between USA and Qatar to decide who gets World Cup 2022. Quality!
