Only 2 goal kickers this week and only 4 last week.
Jack really needs some help and Morton really looked out of sorts today.
Still not sure if Nahas is the answer at Jacks feet
Maybe Roberts or Taylor should be back in the side and give them a chance to settle in, or maybe Connors should play forward on his return as the backline is functioning quite well at the moment.

As soon as Taylor is ready I would put him straight in no questions asked.
We need Griff and Astbury up forward as well although Astbury played back tonight.
We have struggled for goals all year. We need more avenues.
Taylor straight in.
Roberts? Nup.

No excuses for Morton and Nahas today. Astbury presented well, but missed two sodas.

I think Morton is still a very good footballer who is out of touch. Nahas however... :(

Need Griff up their.

I wouldn't worry to much.

Riewoldt is on fire.

Morton is a proven goal kicker.

Nahas can kick goals although he is too up down.

Tayor looks lively.

Griff will kick goals

Astbury looks a goal kicker.

IMO we need to get rid of Matt White on that forward line and leave Collins in there with stints through the midfield. Seems a real burst wingman/HF...

Astbury spent a bit of time forward and should have kicked 2 from easy shots which is a shame for the kid and I agree that Roberts is a maybe.
Taylor has all the tools.
We despperately need more avenues to goal
Maybe Edwards

To be honest if the word about us trading for Vezpremi is correct then he will replace Nahas. Kis is a proven goal kicker and quality...i say go for it.

Jack definitely needs support. Hopefully when Griffiths comes back in he can take some pressure off. Same goes with Post, hopefully he has another big game with Coburg.
I think Morton will get back into the swing of things after a game or two.
Nahas is really out of form, although he had a good game last week.

Post, Taylor and Griff into the forward line. Foley and Jackson into the middle. Moore, Goo and Connors into the backline. i think these changes should happen the next 2-3 weeks. Moore scoring options up forward. Bigger harder bodies in the midifield. and more silk in the backline.

Give Morton another week to re-adjust to the pace, he looked slow both physically and with his decision making. If you throw Post who is a natural FORWARD and Griffiths up there i'm sure we won't have those same problems. Also I hope Nahas never plays another game in Tigers colours, he was deplorable. Can't hit a target, can't lay a tackle and doesn't even look threatening when the ball hits the ground in the forward line. We definitely need to be on our toes somewhere in this years draft looking for a geniune small forward with skills in the mould of alwyn davey.

I heard on both radio and tv pre-game, that the change of Morton in for Grif would be a good thing for us, and I nearly choked on my drink both times. Didn't have a problem with Morton coming in, but Grif out was a huge loss, despite the fact he's only played half a game. With Dawson out, Jack and he would have stretched their back line big time. They have a dozen players who could play on Morton.

Was pretty confident they were never going to throw Griff in against the Saints, but save him for the Eagles, and hope to keep his 100% win record in tact ;)

Im fast running out of patience with Nahas, simply doesnt make the most of his chances which means he is good for SFA ....his spot is most definately up for grabs...Connors may very well occupy a spot on the HFF if they are settled with current back half...has a few tricks and could do alright

I wouldn't take too much notice of our goal kicking contributors last 2 weeks due to the impact of opposition/conditions. Saints force most teams in comp especially young teams like ours to manufacture goals and of course you need to make most your opportunities, which we didn't - missed 6-7 fairly easy shots. With an ounce of luck could easily have had 5-6 goal kickers as Lids, Farmer, Astbury, Nahas and Cuz all missed quite gettable chances.

As for Morton, I'd back him in to come good. He needs 3 in a row at senior level to get his confidence up, was never gonna happen against Saints, as Dea Day pointed out, Griff would have been a much tougher match-up for Saints defence plus he can take contested grab, crash packs, he's a genuine target. I see Morton more in the mould of a Steve Johnson type, part-opportunist, part lead-up and create for others. Hardwick said during week that he is definitely in our best 22 and I agree.

Nahas - again opposition are as tough as they come. He's been a bit inconsistent. Was pleased to see him centre that pass to Astbury late in game, 2 weeks ago he didn't do that and kicked out on full from angle.

Astbury unlucky not to bag 2, Love his effort and very good recovery and ground level. The fact he can go back and play on Key opposition tall is a bonus

Showed real good hands at least a couple of times last night, as well as missing a couple which he flew for. With a bit more time and confidence in this kid, we'll have a nice swingman on our hands :thumbsu:

He looked so much better in the forward line last night. We have Moore and Possible Goo to come in, So we should keep him there. he is a great lead and if Martin or cotch hit him then it will take some presure off Jack. But he needs to kick them.

I wouldn't worry too much about Astbury's kicking for goal. It's normally very good, I'd suggest he was just a bit nervous and unsettled today. He looks a much better forward than backman to me.
