Only getting 1x AA player in is actually a compliment to Richmond and how much of a team system we play. Now all we have to do is go on and win this final series in straight sets, back it up with some more great recruiting and do it again next year.

I am not salty that Grimes missed out because his first half of the season didn’t scream AA to me, but I am that Vlastuin missed out. Honestly, he had a more consistent year than Dusty.

Maynard, Weitering and Ridley also missed out so the backline wasn’t what I imagined either

But I truly believe it’s what makes us so good.
These fellas like Byrne-Jones etc they are prolific players and that’s what AA is about.
Richmond are not about being prolific, you won’t get better examples than Cotch who completely changed from being one of those players once, Jack the same and Dusty among others.
It’s why it’s a bit silly when you see people tee off on players like Broad, Castagna, Rioli, Pickett etc I suspect they view footy through a supercoach or AA lens not a Richmond brand one.

I admire what Rhys Shaw has done too he inherited a team designed around being prolific and ****ed Polec off- clear message.

I don’t begrudge any of the players picked they are all good or prolific players in their own right and had prolific seasons.
I would just rather have a team full of team focused players every day and not have one AA rep.

Yeah you’re 100% right. The culture change Richmond has made over the last few years has been tremendous.

Makes me so proud to be a member. We celebrate all the little things, the tackles, the 1%’s, the behind the scenes staff members. It’s truly extraordinary how far we’ve come.

sure the individual accolades are nice but it’s a team game and teams win premierships not individuals. And I love how Dima constantly reiterates this to the players that aren’t getting a game. Everyone plays a part

Grimes and Vlaustin v Byrne-Jones and Shepherd ? Ryan ? That is just insane and corrupt. Just totally corrupt. What a disgrace that not even one of those two could get in.

When Whingethorn were winning all those premierships, the AA sides were littered with their players. Their “unsociable” football was lauded by all and sundry in the media. We win 2 out of the last 3, make a Prelim in the other, finish 3rd at the end of the H&A this year and we get *** all representation in the AA teams and the media turds all going into a week long frenzy about a pathetic tummy-tap by Lynch.

The AFL...the media. The umpires. The whole system preferred us when we were sh*t. Now, all those salty campaigners want to shaft us whenever they can.

When did Jack win the Coleman and they picked Hawkins over him? Or the amount of times deledio got snubbed at HBF for players in top 4 teams who got half his touches.

The AA has zero credibility. The forward line is a joke this year Dusty, Danger and Bont.

I agree, however Dusty in a pocket makes more sense than Danger and Bont on a flank. Dusty spent a lot of time deep this year and certainly far more than Danger and Bont did on a flank.

Dusty makes absolute sense to be a mid placed somewhere forward, possibly Danger to a less extent as well. Bont makes no sense on HF, spot should’ve been filled by a specialist forward and the Bont can go on the bench.

Jackovich mentioned that Danger and Bont on flanks were because they kicked crucial goals to get their sides up. Excuse me, but Butler kicked more goals than them combined and is one of the MAJOR reasons the Saints are playing finals. Using their criteria, Butler deserved to be in.
