Even the silly comments in here are providing more mate, seriously just move on. Even the "Boys will be boys" brigade knows you are only going to hurt them here.
Whilst it is not my intention to "hurt" the people supporting this view, yes I disagree with them.

As I stated earlier, I believed that Chris Gayle was stupid to make those comments. I don't understand, you call my comments silly but then you seem to be agreeing with me.

The reason it was silly is pretty important, you've missed that.
Ok with my first post, fair enough. I may have missed a fair part of the debate.

But then you quoted my comment (where I said that Chris Gayle was stupid for making his comments) and said they were silly.

And now you say the reason it was silly is pretty important.

I'm agreeing with you, and yet you're still having a crack. What's wrong mate?

Unless you're saying that my comments were silly.

I'm pretty sure even the people siding with Gayle (which I stress not me) would have to agree with what I said about how he was stupid for making his comments during the live interview.

I don't get the watermelon reference. Am I so out of touch?

No. It's the Herald Sun who are wrong.

It's the Adam Goodes debate all over again.

You've got the do-gooders who are desperate to prove to themselves and others that they have a higher set of morals than everyone else.

And then you've got the level headed people who realise that, yes, Gayle should've acted more sensibly on television, but think this whole thing is being blown way out of proportion.
Can you point to some examples of it being blown out of proportion?

Not purely because of that. I'd say the live TV and the public look of what also contributed.

She did not try to fuel it, did not try to excuse it. Said she was disappointed and was glad for the talk on the issue generally. She handled it very professionally.

Yes, McLaughlin has protested the least of anyone. And yes, she did recover, but not before losing composure ("I'm not blushing").

Yep, you got me. I believe that Chris Gayle was stupid in his comments, as he should have known that there would have been a serious backlash from the public.

I'm golden mate, having the time of my life (I don't get out much)

Doesnt need to be justified. He shouldn't have said what he said because it's wrong, not because he would cop backlash.

I didn't say that I myself thought it was being blown out of proportion, I was referring to the people who were taking that side.

Gayle himself was quoted in the age today as saying it was blown out of proportion.

Think she had every right to be a little put off by a bloke going full Pepe Le Pew on her during a nationally televised post innings cricket interview. Frankly I think she did a hell of a lot better than about 90 per cent of her colleagues male or female

Oh well that ends the whole thing, if Chris feels it's all over the top we can all go home can't we

Gayle also seems to think that he's done nothing wrong so he's an idiot.

Do you think it's been blown out of proportion?

Didn't realise you were nitpicking to that level. I agree as well.

If I was splitting hairs I'd say that the amount of coverage its got is probably a bit over the top, given there are probably more important issues to be discussed in the news.

You weren't splitting hairs before. You clearly stated there were two camps.

So, are you a do gooder? Or are you a "level headed" person who thinks the whole thing is being blown out of proportion?

If you think the coverage is out of proportion, you need to understand it's not just Gayle's comments anymore. Ray Charles could see that.

What a great time for this movie to get a run last night...

The BBM v the BBL

Similarity no.1 - Most of us think T20 is a pisstake, just like this movie...
Similarity no.2 - The uniforms. Cindy Sixer, Jan Star, Marcia...Marcia Marcia, Greg Renegade, Peter Scorcher and Bobby Hurricane...these would be great rock star names...
Similarity no.3 - The guy wearing Melbourne Renegades red is prone to pickup lines that women roll their eyes to...maybe Chris Gayle should have tried: "Hey there groovy chick - you're really hip in a far out kind of way"...
