I honestly don't see the big deal in what he said, but at the end of the day it doesnt affect me and it wasnt aimed at me. That said, I'm sure Mel was surprised by it and probably a bit taken aback. Not saying I agree that it was the best time or place, but based on what was said I dont think it warrents still being talked about on TV plus double page spreads in the paper. Some people in the media are really going hard at *this* incident and I think its making a mountain out of a molehill.

However, Gayle has form with this type of thing based on what he said in the windies t20 comp - and that i would have agreed was stepping over the mark. Based on that it probably wasnt the brightest idea by channel 10 to have him so front and center with a mic in his face when he'd just been dismissed and still running off adrenalin.

Gayle, it was alleged, was in the dressing room during a training session when the woman walked in to get a sandwich, only for the batsman to pull down the towel he was wrapped in and say: "Are you looking for this?"

So why did this woman walk into a dressing room with males after a training session and look for a sandwich ?

Coventry said nothing wrong. The latest claims re last year's World Cup are opportunistic by definition. The woman concerned did not name the player to the Windies' team manager at the time, but has named him to the press in the wake of the McLaughlin controversy. Extreme opportunism.

Your opinion has been made pretty clear. Unfortunately for you, the people in high places within Cricket's Victoria & Australia don't care for your thoughts - they have invested millions in promoting and expanding the game to appeal to women - so that they should be treated as equals.

You can argue that many female reporters have come out of the woodwork and like Stewart Coventry you claim - "opportunism". I'll pay that - but in providing the opportunity he opened himself up to a full on blitzkrieg from female cricket journos the world over. And none have missed him.

BBL is all about fun and entertainment - but a lot about families - Gayle is toast in the Australian market - he has trashed his brand beyond repair. I will be very surprised if he plays another game - CV are fuming beyond belief.
