It's a bit more gentle than stand up comedy. The only thing that makes it a bit daunting is that some of the entrants are clearly professional or aspiring comedians/performers

I met this guy in New York who was into Improv - he took me to the Upright citizen brigade theatre to see the "law firm" - who were fantastic.

Anyway, he sent me a youtube of himself telling a story at one of those events. They're fantastic.
