I suppose its OK to lecture on radio ( when you are a sports commentator) about morality, while you have a mistress who you pay $1000 a week.

not saying it's ok because it obviously isn't. but considering the levels to which people dislike him, i thought there would've been more to it.

i remember listening to him when he did the geelong v north prelim final in 94, when Tutor kicked the ball all you heard for the next 30 seconds was yelling and a whole lot of comotion and no one had any idea what happened until Ablett kicked the goal, Hunt apologised right after it for getting carried away.
Still have an old cassette tape with the audio of that game somewhere , and dubbed it onto the video of the game. Was a great commentary of a great game, just got to remember which box it is packed away in

Oh wow, you have to find that. I'd love to hear it.

This was one that I actually didn't like that much.

For someone who says that he's in a really good place with his life now and he's over the limelight of the footy that he had in his prime with his commentating and the whole channel Rex thing, he seemed to still like talking about the adulation and respect that he receives when he walks into places.

He came across to me as a punch drunk boxer who keeps retiring and then coming back because he can't live without the adulation.

That's just me though.

I'm a bit the same way, I used to get a laugh out of his calls but I never liked the guy, total egomaniac. What was that line he used to use when signing off his tv footy show; 'And remember, I'm Rex Hunt and you're not'!
Even through that interview I was unable to decipher at times if it was a performance or not. The Grybas part was heartfelt as was the words for his wife, I thought he was good on a couple of subject's but yeah not a fan of his too be honest.

I'm watching it now. He said if it had have been a few years earlier he wouldn't have hesitated in knocking him out.

And that he looks back more fondly on his time at the Dogs than anywhere else. That surprised me a bit. I assumed a premiership would be > all, but obviously not

I'd love to see Ben Cousins do an Open Mike.
Mike has this great ability to ask personal questions in such a way the person is very honest.
Mike's almost surprised sometimes at the honesty.

But a great one tonight with Barry Hall.
I agree, it needs to be an hour every week.

Any idea who is next week or who is lined up for the rest of the season?

Caught a replay earlier, excellent interview. Mike sure has a way of getting them to open up.

Will be great, like most of them have been.

Would like it if these went for an hour.

Thought the Hall one was ok, he's still a bit of a blockhead.

A self confessed one though, he's made a huge improvement since his late sydney days.

Would also love to see a Ben Cousins interview. But I still think it's far too early for that and I don't think enough has happened in the past two years that is worth an interview considering so much info is in his book.

I think I've heard enough from Ben.

Could say the same about lots of the other Open Mike guests though, pretty sure there's still lots that Ben could reveal, but it would only be revealed once he's finally in a good place and consistently healthy.
