Wow really? Already? Sure maybe in 5 years time when the memories settle and she can look back on them fondly. I just hope they don't spend too much time talking about her dad
 
Yeah, cos Phillips doesn't have a better story to tell than half the plebs they had on last year :rolleyes:

After a near-20 year break from playing footy, returns in the first year of the AFLW to dominate the competition and win most of the major awards.
Trailblazing in her openness about her same sex relationship, which we haven't seen in over 150 years of the sport at the top level.

How could anyone argue that she's not a worthy guest?

Not saying she isn't worthy. I thought the show was for retired players.

I want another few years out of her at least ;)

Already? Maybe in a few years.

My apologies but I have said this from day 1. I have zero interest in the women's league.

My club does not have a team, I am not going to barrack for another team.

Local teams in my area interest me as much as Women's footy, yeah it's football, yeah I might watch 5 minutes of it and go hmm this is ok, but at the end of the day I have no affinity to any team or players.

If North have anything I support that, I am a North fan not a football fan. You give me a women's team in blue and white stripes I'll be there every week. Until then it's a blip on the radar for me.
 
Erin Phillips... Dont know who she is but all the media I hear tell me she is an absolute champion... a Legend. Good for her, but Im not interested in being force fed faux superstars of the AFL.
 
Good on her and not trying to knock her by any means but this show is really struggling if she's getting a run now.

Yeah no doubt but based on what someone posted above about her dad I reckon he would be much more interesting (I'd never even heard of him).

The game is very political these days. It was yet another chance to promote the womens' league. It has become way too obvious over the past few years that the AFL sets the agenda of the media.

Like another poster, I understand Erin Phillips has been a top female sports person over the years and has a story to tell. However, I always thought Open Mike was a show which interviewed former VFL/AFL players and legends, not someone who has played maybe 6 games.

Had the show in the past included current people from other sports, I'd have no problem with Erin Phillips being interviewed.

Embarrassing. Riding her Dads coat tails. Her old man delved into everyone else's private lives. Why doesn't he report on his daughters pedo husband or his junkie son.

Agree that she is a worthy guess but this is where Mike lets himself down, he barely touched on Erin's basketball career or explored the AFLW league, although there is only so much you can ask in 30 minutes.
