I thought we had him too.I couldn't believe it when GWS went another tall in that 2013 draft.

I'd love for Freo to get their hands on Hogan but in my humblest of opinions the chances are very slim. He is looking the goods and will be a very very good player. I was hoping the Dees were going to be crappy again this season so he gets sick of it and wants to come home. Paul Roos is doing a pretty good job over there.

On McCathy he looks to be an absolute ripper. Would love to get him but once again I just cant see it. GWS would want the world and I cant see us paying the price to get him.

That was the report I saw. And this comes shortly after they sent him overseas for a revolutionary new 'patella shaving' technique to treat tendinitis or something.

Hopefully coincidental, you'd hate to think something has gone wrong and caused a weakness.

For someone who has patellar issues myself, having a knee realignment at the end of the year, I certainly feel for him. Dislocated knee caps are not fun.

A fella(Blues fanatic) I buy building materials off down in the sou'west region whom I had a chat with last week,mentioned that his niece was Jesse's sort of long distance girlfriend.
He said Jesse is such a top young man.Hopefully, Jesse says I want out and wants to come back to WA to be back with his girl.
 
Get Jake Carlisle.
His contract is up at end of 2015 season.
He previously stalled re-signing pending drugs verdict - now that not guilty judgement has come in, he has now given the "I just wanna focus on my footy line" that players who are leaving often give.
Aged in mid 20s. Proven quality & size. True power key position player. Swingman.
Probably sick of Essendon circus & Hird.
Offer him $800k a season - offers more than Rance.

I agree he would be better than Rance & McCarthy. But people need to accept that these Essendon players are blinded by love for Hird. That guy has some hold over everyone at the club. It is unbelievable, but it's the truth. If anything, there'd be more chance of him leaving if Hird had been sacked and Bomber Thompson was still the coach, see link below.

Well Hogan is contracted until the end of 2017 at Melbourne. Very unlikely to be traded until then. By that time Roos will be gone but Melbourne will likely be higher up the ladder. Unless he is cruelled by injury (touch wood), he would also be at his maximum value at the age of 23, so Melbourne would want A LOT for him.

The only hope of getting Hogan to Freo in 2018 is if he requests the trade. Maybe the lure of the big city will have worn off by then...?

By 2018 I'm hoping Tabs & Apeness will have already sprung up as our 2-prong tall forward attack. 3 years is a looooong time. Like, 3 years ago, how many people would've through Tabs would be where he is now?

I agree that we'd have a low chance of landing Carlisle, but a man can dream can't he?

At the moment, our two Matthews are 21 and 33 (12 years age difference) - from a list management perspective, it would be ideal to have a KPF in mid to late 20s. Carlisle is 24.

Imagine a fantasy scenario of Rance as a free agent, and Carlisle both in the side. Would compliment our young upcoming brigade of mids beautifully post Pav & McPharlin.
Like I said - a man can dream!
