Would love Riewoldt, however unlikely that seems. Fills a pressing need, is from up that way and his team is a sinking ship.

What happened to Thomas? Did he sign? Thought he was a FA??
Dale Thomas said he wasn't going to open contract talks until he was back at full fitness and in good form.

Nick Riewoldt would be just about perfect for the team right now. Has always played well at Metricon Stadium and is a free agent (obviously). I read he took quite a big pay cut this year to take him down to around 400k or so. The Suns have around 500k free in their cap from what we have estimated and the Saints are going downhill so why wouldn't he listen to an offer? He is from the Gold Coast after all.

I recall him being asked in 2009 whether he would join the Gold Coast when they entered the league and he stated he would contemplate it if he could get a premiership with St Kilda. I would have thought that is out the window now given they blew two chances for a flag and are on the way down. Signing a 31-year-old Riewoldt would be a good move in my opinion because it gives you that big option up front for a few years while the younger guys keep developing and he is still playing very well. The only negative is his injury that requires blood injections. He injects his own blood into his knee (I think) and it allows him to play at a high standard for about six months.

he injects everygame.. he would be too old, id love to see him play for us but i think he is too set up in melbourne and will probably have a career in the media after.. i dont think he will pack up and move just for a year or 2..

Fair point. It seems unlikely but you'd think he would at least listen to an offer. No harm in sending an offer his way?

Jesse White has been showing a bit for the Swans and is unlikely to get much playing time now that Tipprat is in the side. Could he be an stop gap option for us over the next 2-3 years?

he would come cheap

Could do worse, chris dawes I'm looking at you!

His name is up on the wall quite a few times at Southport Sharks.

BRM approves of Rooey to GC.

jack is from tassie.
nick grew up on the goldie and his family is still living here.
played at southport before going number 1
reason he wont leave is because he will probably end up going into the
media once he retires and its stupid to come up here for a yr or 2 to
just go back down again.

Surely he could get a job in the media in Queensland. I would love to see Nick at the Suns. I think that would just give us much more potency and we could finish next year in the top 6.
