Should be operation "be competitive" and "actually defend".

Being realistic it is going to be a tough year, we can't put too much expectation on the kids to step straight in.

On the plus side some of the guys from previous years are ahead of schedule and have a fair bit of experience. Schache, hippy, Keays, Cutler, Taylor, matho, Andrews, mcstay, gardner, hammer are all at least a year ahead of schedule on games played. Though it might be a case of "unlearning" some poor habits.

But it is too much the new guys to come in and have an impact, especially bags who is very skinny. Hopefully they just play him forward and pinch hit on a wing

Yeah not many wins but hopefully an enjoyable year to look on in a development sense

I'm really excited about our opening games in 2017.

Round 1 the Q Clash at Metricon Stadium to kick things off. Hopefully we remain injury free over the off season and can send out our best 22 in what will be a challenge against a new and improved Suns line up. Should be a bit fiery going up against Steven May and Pearce Hanley.

Round 2 First home game at the Gabba for the season and we should draw a good crowd on a Saturday evening against the Bombers. I am hoping we put in a good show in Round 1 and play some exciting footy leading to a bit of a buzz in the lead up to this game which should be the closest thing we'll get to a "blockbuster" being a Sat night at the Gabba against one of the big Vic clubs with a decent crowd.

Round 4 At the Gabba against the Tigers. Once again should draw a decent crowd against them on a Sunday afternoon and hopefully we can finally put an end to our losing streak against them.

Three winnable games that the boys should work hard towards to get the season off to a promising start.
