Hawks are looking for a developing ruckman and from what I've heard, Warnock might fit the bill. Has anyone seen him play? What are his strengths and weaknesses? How does he compare to Cameron Wood and John Meeson from last year's draft? Thanks.

Yes ive seen Warncok play quite a few times this year and last. Extremely fit, was one of the enthusiastic blokes down at dragons when pre-season came around, was always in the top 3 in the 3km time trials. Quite agile for his height, can pick the footy up cleanly from below his knees and he's a good contested grab. Get's pushed around abit being so thin and light for 204cm but is under-estimated in his strength.. Can tap quite well with both hands and uses his body well. Much better with the around the ground ruckwork than the centre bounces, he's shown he can play around the ground aswell. Playing FF, CHF & dropped into the backline a few times.. I'd favour his defesive skills against his offensive skills though, he's rather reliable in the backline. As for comparing him to Wood and Meeson i cant say much, havnt seen much of either of them.

For awhile now I've had Warnock in mind for our second round pick if he's still around. Definitely sounds like what we're after.

Warnock has good disposal skills, directs his tap very well and is stronger than his weight suggest and thus he is good at the aournd the ground ruckwork.
He does not get enough of the ball around the ground and this must have more to do with footy smarts because he is clean below his knees and can take a mark although he still needs to work on his contested mark.
The one big negative is white man cant jump. This was exposed by ryder at the centre bounces in the carnival where warnock struggled to get a hand on the ball at centre bounces.
Whoever drafts him will have to work very hard on his football smarts but he is worth a try for clubs needing to develop a ruckman.

His weight would have to be of concern though. The man is obscenely skinny, would need to put on 20kg for his ripe AFL playing weight.

What you've all said is very accurate.... His biggest strength, I believe, is his attitude and leadership.... He is the type of guy looking to improve all the time and is 100% dedicated to making it!

His ability below his knees is as good as any small midfielder I've seen, quite amazng really! Just needsa few years to put on weight (put on 10kg over summer this year, which dropped to about 5kg by the end of the year)!!!

About the distance between Perth and Melbourne. In other words....A big gap.

I take it you mean he's nowhere as good?

Good developing Ruckman and great attitude will go very far and can put on weight. Needs a pre-season at an AFL club. :)
