Not really that compelling for me. Of course you're gonna score less against the better teams and more against the lesser ones. In our case:
Port 4th points against - 58 points
NM 6th points against - 82 points
WCE 7th points against - 83 points
We kick more against lesser sides....so do they. As you said you can only beat and score against who you play and they're 3rd where scoring is concerned.
Indirectly you're saying you reckon they've had a soft draw ? Fair enough.
I was disagree with your comment about them playing the most attractive scoring type play after us. The point I was making was they haven't actually played the majority of the best defensive sides so their points for is most likely inflated compared to other teams.
They've played 4 games against the top 8 defensive sides.
WCE (who have scored 30 less points) have played 8 games against 7 of the top 8 defensive sides (can't play themselves)
Hawks (76 points behind) have played 7 games
Norf (85) have played 6 games
Port (116) have played 6 games
Cats (120) have played 7 games
So while they maybe 3rd that doesn't make them a great attacking/scoring team and I think their last month has shown that, the Essendon and Carlton games have both been dour defensive games. FWIW i think they finish top 4, they should win against Eagles and Port at the G, and Lions and Dockers should be wins. Us, Roos and Swans should be more difficult.
