why is shoulder contact a free in AFL? it's never been dangerous and never will be. it's such a horrible watch to see a free against when a player puts a hand on someone's shoulder, ******* terrible. also encourages the duckers divers and shruggers as all they have to do is get a hand onto their shoulder to get the free, not even neck or head

The idiots at afl house were patting each other on the back after round 2 saying the new rules made high scoring football. Bummers dockers yet another reality check for those numb nuts.. snooze fest with 6 goals apiece after 2.5 quarters

Every f en time they change the rules, they jack it at the start of the season saying how good it is and look at the scoring.
Then every year by this time coaches have worked it out and the pace drops off.
And to top it off, now they want 18 minute quarters!
Wanna fix something?
How about go back and fix the interpretation of holding the ball/dropping the ball/correct handball coz it is beyond a joke at this point

Our percentage needs to get a move on. It’s looking like there are a lot of teams only separated by percentage so I think that percentage may become a big factor when determining where teams finish at the end of the H&A season. It’s currently sitting clear 8th with a difference of almost 10% to the next best so we need some percentage-boosters.

Who really wants every game to be high scoring though? That's the beauty of the game. Some games will be high scoring others will be a tight contest. Look at most sports - it's the same. Soccer - 0-0 draws and 5-4 games. Rugby is the same. NBA is one sport where scoring has massively increased due to rule changes over the years and defences not being able to implement the same strategy as say the 80's and 90's but come play offs - scoring drops as well due to teams increasing their concentration on defence. Steve Hocking should accept the way the game is, is absolutely fine.
