Saw the title, thought 'hope it wasn't a Blues supporter', sighed when it was but then read on. As thought, universally shouted down by the mob, and fair enough too. It was pretty ordinary.

However, and here is the rub ..... when others, Hodgepodge for example, can start more than one thread about Judd being a dud, he generally gets plenty more posters chiming in to further expand on his theory.

Now calling Hodge a dud is silly to the extreme, but calling Judd a dud is equally as silly, if not more so. Confront them with the Judd call and it is 'don't take it so seriously, it's the Bay, my god you guys are sensitive'. Play the game and do exactly the same thing, and they forget the game and attack the poster. For a group of posters who like to think they are individually cool, they sure like to backslap and follow each other around. Hell, our supporters have even got Essendon and Hawthorn supporters backing each other up, instead of participating in the pisstake.

Our traffic is huge, we have collected our fair share of newcomers and recalcitrants and thus are ruffling more feathers. The villagers have heard the growling coming from the sinister dark castle on the hill, and using each other for shelter, have taken up torches and pitchforks to protect the docile lifestyle. I think I saw this on Van Helsing once.

Anyway, I digress. So many poor calls have been made over the years of our demise, that we threaten to make a lie of, and the originators of those lies, are worried they will be forced to account for them. What we are seeing is hope that their favourite whipping boys will not hold them to account, but it is laced with a whole lot of 'but if you do, it won't count' type disclaimers.

The battle of the football supporter will not be won in a backwoods forum on a football website, as much as the villagers would like it to be. Nor will it be won by popular vote amongst kindred spirits. Just as we can point to the thread above and concede it is a silly troll, those that troll against us know, through their false bravado, that they are no better. They just get clouded by an adrenaline rush and mass acceptance from their peers. Speaking of the peers .... now there is a cyber social status to be proud of.

There's no doubt BF, as well as BS, is flooded with hypocrisy ODN. Been happily throwing that fact back in the faces of various vile little Carlton-haters quite a bit of late. Tends to do the trick.

Yup, well spotted. Has been trolling Carlton since registration, and now resorting to trolling others while pretending to be a Carlton supporter so the dim witted can then slag off at Carlton. Kills two birds with one stone, trolls someone else while Carlton supporters get the bad rap for it.

The trolls are getting desperate if they have to frame Carlton supporters for stuff just to get their fix.

I never criticised the original OP quite the opposite but as you stated earlier many Carlton posters could not keep to the subject and failed to meet the criteria for posting in the thread.

I am not a troll though occasionally I do enjoy shit stirring other posters. In this case I have to respectfully disagree. I actually like CFC, am a fan of Fev and enjoy watching your matches.

In the last couple of days rediculous and quite lame trolling by a couple of Carlton trolls has stirred up in me a sense of emnity towards CFC posters. I could quite easily have started flaming them creating rediculous CFC threads but chose not to. Some don't. I stand by what I said about trolling existing normally but some people have to take responsibility for their posting and realise that "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction".

It is an admirable reason why you started this thread and I wholeheartedly endorse your intentions(not that my opinion matters) but some times it is also important to take a firm hand and lead by example(not directly intended at you but some CFC posters).

WC fans should be the last team that can be accused of as not being sympathetic to your plight due to the amount of abuse and trolling it's posters have copped. But others complain about this also and to state CFC as a special case will appear to some as evidence of a persecution complex.

Once again it is a slight difference of opinion, I am on your board and mean no disrespect just that whilst monitoring serial Carlton attackers please be equally as mindful of your own repeat offenders. Otherwise the thread is a great idea and I didn;t mean to seem like I was misinterpreting all of your intentions.

Well obviously I refute your point because I didn't delete the post. As to Carlton supporters having carte blanche to say as they want, then that is clearly not correct. The line you were so offended by was vague in its content and did not directly talk about what sort of character the poster thought you were. Yours was quite clear.

You have to remember that you have no right of reply for things that offend you. You can question it, you can use superior intellect (if you happen to possess that in comparison to the person you are replying to) to dismiss it.

You have to remember what the thread is about. The discussion is not whether we have the right to have this thread and what purpose it serves. You have offered that opinion, and have talked about how it may make us look and about perceptions. Yet, someone offers a perception about how you may look, and you seem to think it has become a Bay 13 thread and should be open slather as far as right of reply.

Don't you think I have been called far far worse on enemy territory and chosen to ignore it or better still, stuck to the point and demonstrated that their opinion was of no consequence?

I'm thinking this thread becomes a bit too cerebral for those whose natural instinct is to avoid sublety when returning fire.

Not really. My cause is to be able to address issues raised by opposition supporters and have them discussed in a less volatile atmosphere where logical debate is not secondary to how many fish you get on the hook.

This little interraction between us (and others in this thread) is merely me taking the time to answer queries as they are raised. As soon as it becomes clear that somebody is deliberately straying outside genuine query in order to score points, I will consider them off topic and/or disrespectful and lose that air of cooperation.

The thread does not exist for others to continue trolling.

Now if you would like to raise some valid and respectful points about any aspect of the Carlton Football Club, I can point you to the discussion threads mentioned earlier in this thread.
