Bay 13 on BigFooty is a parallel universe distinctly different to the real world in 2 main ways:

1. Carlton's successful history is ignored and undermined

2. Opposition posters are allowed to peddle horrible lies about the Football Club with no need to back it up.

Anyone who lives in the real world knows that either of these points generally ends a football argument in our favour. You can be sitting at the pub, at a BBQ, with family or friends, and Carlton's supreme history generally ends the argument as the jealousy of opposition fans generally makes them spit and fume, or turn to point 2.

Lying as per point 2 is what children do to cover their tracks, and its what some BigFooty posters do incessantly.

Why would a poster turn up to a parallel universe like that? For sport? To play along with idiots who cant tell the truth or honestly land a punch?

Nothing ironic about it. This thread dies off and then comes back again, it is hardly a constant hangout and therefore is not an obsession. I find that those that perpetuate bullshit take exception to the target of that bullshit circumventing their little circle jerk and talking about it where they can't gang up and jump in with more bullshit.

It seems to infuriate them for some reason. Go figure.

At any rate, your little contribution has no place here. If you can't debate on its merits, then you are wasting our time. This thread certainly does sort the wheat from the chaff I find. Who is able to articulate their issues and who is full of hot air?

Some are there for humour and ribbing. For most though it is one way traffic. There is very little impartial about Bay 13.

Crikey I've been boxed round the ears by something other than a football, meat pie or Holden car. Fair call and I too dig a bit of jousting the most. Humour and ribbing rarely stays just that when it's between opposing AFL supporters but.

What irks me about your mate is his indignation that people actually might not be interested in being golden showered with the abuse that goes on in Bay 13 virtually unchecked. And that he defends the place as some sort of inner sanctum of fun and hilarity. Not for me. Sorry about the Trekkie crack. Star Wars is different ain't it? Incidentally Bigeasy, where was your sense of humour when someone was ripping into your club on Bay 13? Only a handful of Bay 13 protagonists play the game when the boot is on the other foot.

Everyone knows that the North Melbourne Football Club are struggling. With third rate training equipment that resembles something from a Rocky movie and a supporter base that is enriched with charity memberships from other clubs (myself included)... I can't help but wonder whether they'll ever attain as many memberships as Michael Tuck?

I didn't realise until the other day that North's Premiership history stands as follows:

1975 - Winners
1977 - Winners
1996 - Winners
1999 - Winners

This is pale in comparison with Tucky who has 7. I believe that North Melbourne only have 4 or 5 years left in the top competition left at most. As the economy cools, many Australians are having to tighten the belt and cut down on spending. In situations like these, often the first thing to be cut out are charity donations. Whilst it will be sad to lose another Victorian club, it is inevitable that North Melbourne will end up leaving.

Can they acquire 3 more premierhips within the next 4-5 years? It is looking increasingly likely with the cattle they have at their disposal.

Not up to me to say why CP would reduce his contribution on the bay but as an outsider looking in i would suggest he doesn't need to be there on a regular basis to keep up with the groundhog day style that is bay 13. Why make a the trip daily if a monthly visit will give you the same outcome.
