That is my point , if you continue to top up 18 years ,whether they are GC academy or other draftee you going to end up light Weight in your overall list .

Barlow , Hall, Lynch , Rosa will not be easy to replace, not forgetting last year Ablett , Matera and Saad .

That isn't the point. People smear Scott Clayton as the guy who recruits "skinny flankers" who can't tackle, but I just listed 8 players who both fit that loose category, yet many of his picks have eventually blossomed into specialist positions.

Have a look at Alastair Lynch's All-Clayton team in 2008.

Daryl White was plucked from obscurity in NT, another of Clayton's happy hunting grounds.

Clayton passed on Justin Murphy to pick "skinny flanker" Nigel Lappin at pick #2.

9 teams passed on Robert Murphy before Clayton picked him.

A lot of Suns fans claim Scott Clayton is the worst list manager and other palaver, but on the evidence he has been one of the most successful list managers in modern AFL history. Just flawed in that he was never able to put together a premiership list within his tenures at 3 clubs, despite his successors being able to turn his lists into contenders after his departure. The Bears/Lions merger was Clayton's undoing, but his successor did quite poorly at the Draft and it was really the recruits like Martin Pike, Mal Michael and Brad Scott that helped the existing group become the best team ever.

Saw that. Collingwood are insane. They have demanded all the things they see other clubs getting, like choosing where and when they play, gaining access to Talent Academies and rarely leaving Victoria. They are currently looking at pick #14 unless they can beat the Hawks and then Richmond and make the GF. Isaac Quaynor is tied to them through the Next Gen Academy and is likely to go mid first round. Will Kelly is a Father/Son selection also tipped to go first round, probably late but as a KPD he could gain early interest. Atu Bosenavualagi is another Next Gen player tied to the Pies.
Then they have picks #14, #49, #52, #70 and #88 which means that right now they can't afford all of their own designated targets AND they reckon they can afford Lynch or May while they have as many as 20 players yet to sign for 2019.
 
The 5th year in a row that an interstate team that finished higher plays a GF in Melbourne against a Victorian team.
Perth have a stadium that holds 60K, that's enough for me to say they can play it there.

Just read the last few pages of Geelong Tim Kelly thread. To see the meltdowns and hypocrisy of those that were the most self-righteous and trolling of our board 12 months ago has well and truly made my day.
I’ve always said the Handbaggers Franchise was glass jawed and it’s been displayed again.

Mostly cap issues I keep reading and hearing.
Once their premiership window starts closing they’ll lose players left right and centre like us.
Scully happy to take a pay cut and signs for 5 more years. Cracks the sads with 3 years left and pulls out the ‘family reasons’ card.

The “go home” factor of the sport of AFL is blight and an embarrassment to the sport and to the entire Australian Milennial Generation.
It baffles me because the AFL should have total power over its players Union. AFL players have zero mobility, they can’t go play overseas and they can’t go and play another sport.
Yet those unbelievable morons at VFL house have allowed its player union to take hold over them and it’s weak as piss cheerleader Media is completely incapable of criticism or scrutiny.
It’s affecting the games growth.

Setterfield, Shiel, Scully, Lobb, Finlayson, Patton being floated. That’s gotta be $2million in cap right there that they’re trying to get rid of to get under the cap apparently.
Who is in charge of the salary cap there and how does he have a job still?

Also, at what point does the term ‘exodus’ Come out?

Free agency was introduced to allow players the right to choose a home.
How is May, Neale, Scully, Shiel, Hogan, Wingard etc etc requesting to go to a specific club whilst still contract any different?
They've created a monster.

After this year / trade period the Adelaide clubs have firmed as my least favourites.
Sydney up there - although I think thats probably because of their association with FIGJAM Roos.
