AUSSIE fans of TV queen Oprah Winfrey will get the chance to be in the audience of her Sydney broadcasts, with ticketing to be offered in an Olympic Games-style ballot. Seating for about 3000 people will be available when the US talkshow host brings the final season of her program to Australia later this year, in a major tourism boost for the country.
Besides the 300 "ultimate audience members'' she will include on her adventure down under, local fans will have the chance to join the show when it is filmed from the Sydney Opera House forecourt in December.
Ticketing will be finalised next month, with registration available via Channel 10's website at a date to be advised.
The secret plans for Winfrey's tour - dubbed Project O by NSW tourism insiders - was revealed to a frenzied audience and media response in the US overnight where the story has dominated entertainment news.
In a personal message to Australian fans, the queen of daytime TV said she was excited about the adventure, including shopping in Melbourne and wine-tasting in WA before attempting the local lingo.
"Cheers mate - I will get the accent right before December, I promise.''
Adding a trademark spiritual touch to the sizzle reel, she added: ``Happiness is having something to look forward to and we could not be looking more forward to our coming down under.''
It is the first time the world's most popular TV host has taken the program outside of North America, in a coup helped along by her friend and Qantas ambassador John Travolta.
The Grease star is set to jet here for the airline's 90th birthday celebrations in November, but is expecting the birth of his third child with wife Kelly Preston in December when the Oprah production rolls into town.
