They aren’t robots. It’s a 1 off game. I’m here nor there on Johnson not playing, if the club thinks he’s done enough for the year then so be it. I’m fine with that. I’d just prefer to watch him over Shiel and Menzie who will both be off the list next season.

It's not really that simple though. Gresham's come out and hasn't replaced been by a forward, so you can't really use that argument. We've taken out a HBF and a HFF/FP and replaced with a mid and an FB.

As others have said, it's not some massive issue - but it is worth keeping an eye on for mine. It has been strange how little he's played (and how often he's been sub/subbed off), given his form. If he can't get a game with 18 blokes (or whatever is is) out, he probably doesn't play much AFL next year, you wouldn't think. If there's more to it, that's fine - but it's a worthy discussion on a footy forum, I think.

The kid did not have much of a pre season and his defensive work has been below par. It is not strange at all.
He will play next year. They where keen to get games into him this year despite stuff all pre season. He would have got some games even without the injury toll. You will be wrong about him getting games next year. My mail is they where that keen to get games into Clarke and Johnson that they would give them some games despite them being well short of ready.
18 games of football (3 sub) is a decent enough load for a guy who had a limited pre season.

Laverde back into defence created basically dictated that Johnson was not going to get a full game at half back so sub was pretty much the other option.

Gresham has been playing a lot of midfield minutes in recent weeks. Durham has form forward and midfield. Same role as Gresham. Forward/midfield.

And I was giving the counter discussion to he should be playing. As you say it is a footy forum.
