Thought he's really lifted his game in recent weeks. I think his defensive game is drifted and he shouldn't be played in the backline and isn't needed because we have Guerra and Sewell performing down there. And we have Brown who played forward last week then went back this week for stints. And now Osborne has moved to the middle and in a forward role. He's kicked three goals in two matches but has tackled well and been really hard at the ball and set up a few goals. I think he's starting to turn his career around. Has a role now it seems and is handy across the forward flank, gives his all.

Your thoughts....;)

yeah he is a decent player now, i mean his two goals were handy but i think this side needs a bit more height especally in the forward line. Ozzy is determind but he doesn't possess either height or strength so im not sure whether he is a positive to our side or not...

We need some taller targets to kick to in the forward line. What i saw on friday was a mess and without croad we could have lost. I like the way the magies go about it in the forward line. 3 talls plus the ruckman with smalls at the feet good set up. With our midfield we should try the same with franklin, croad, boyle... williams and dixion to crumb and everit or campbell as ruckman pushing forward.

Agree with you FT, The good news is, Thurgood got a gig playing forward in his return game from injury in the BHH 2's, and kicked 3, whilst Boyle also lined up in the same game and slotted 4.
With the imminent return of Franklin also, the height issue may seem merely a temporary anomoly.
Oh, one more Inclusion to come back i would think, will be Birchall, who at 192cm, isnt exactly a midget either. :thumbsu:

RE: Osborne, He does work hard, but seems to hang off contests also sometimes, which bothers me no end.

Boyle will be back this week thats what it seems on the Hawthorn website. "Boyle ahead of Franklin at the moment".

Interesting.

i have always said that ossie has all the attributes to be a very good player. he kicks well on both sides, he has great hands and has great speed........
but he has one attribute that annoys the crap out of me....
he hardly plays a game without giving a 50 away, or a down field free kick.
i have seen occasions where he is 5m away from the player when he kicks it, yet ossie still runs thru him. he has cost the team many goals over the last couple of years. if he can get this out of his game, than i am happy to keep him, but if he continues to do it, he might be worth something when it comes to trade time (package him up with nick ries!!!!!)

I dont have a lot of time for Osborne, he is just so undiciplined with giving away free kicks. I understand you need to have some hard players in your side, and we have hodge, mitchell, guerra, brown, vanders etc.... who do it within the rules (brown on most occasions). i just dont think that osborne brings that much to the table. you watch him and after every contest he lines up the person who disposed of the footy and moe often that not gives away a free kick down field. just very frustrating from my point of view and i hope AC gives him the discipline he deserves.

He's not playing against the Bombers, has a bruised foot/heel and will miss. Boyle, Kane, Birchall, Ries called up on extended bench (No Franklin).
