This is such a weird take to keep pedalling.

If you truly think they have had the same career trajectory and have the same level of talent then you might want to stop huffing nangs mate.

Tabs kicked 1.8 goals a game at 27, 2.3 goals a game at 28, 1.8 at 29 years and dropped off at 30 years with .8.

OA's going at .8 this year against Tabs at the same age kicking 1.4.

OA's career has one great year, where he kicked 18 more goals than Tabs best, with OA having 5 more games.

So on your reckoning, next year we can expect Oscar to average what, 2 goals a game and 2.8 the year after and then nail another 2 goals a year average at 29?

Keep pulling them cones and keep the "vibe" thinking Oscar's career trajectory is on the up, when statistically (bastard of thing aren't they) since 2023, he's falling behind Tabs.

He's cooked.

P.S. could you imagine our past captains Hurn, Woosha, Glass, Cousins/Kemp etc being criticised and rolling over and playing dead?

Seeing that you like stats , how do the inside 50 ratios compare between the two ? I’m curious to see who had the most opportunities to build on those goal stats ..

1: I'm not comparing Taberner and Allen, that's you.

2: You're not getting it, and by the sounds of it you won't ever.

It appears you think you've hit some jackpot of comparison and think you're smarter than you are but really you look incredibly foolish.

Because there are other teams without such success or help.

There needs to be clear guidelines for all teams. Without the AFL manipulation the rules to suit there own narrative.

The current AFL management changes the rules every year to suit there self.

Bugger that let every club have the same set of goal post and stop changing the rules.

No club ( Not just the eagles) should be granted a priority picks with in 10 years of winning a premiership.

A priority picks for a struggling club should be before number 1. Pick Zero ( since the AFL likes the number ).

For example f/a compo should be at the end of each round not the start. This also protects the early picks, especially for struggling clubs.

F/S - NGA Access should be discount. Your ability trump another club when the players name is called out.

Full time umpires are a must!
Investment in under 18 and 16 footy.

Anyway my point is stable governance with the same set of rules for everyone.

Which should also mean you’re not punished for good governance of your club.
How about we run with,,,,,,The AFL need WC and they don't need St Kilda?
Do you think the AFL can afford a drop off of income because WC are shit and supporters STOP going to games?
These are the facts of the AFL corporation in that it needs WC to be successful.
They need WA support.
We will get a PP next year.

eh. Oscar is undoubtedly more talented than Tabs was, no argument there.

However, Allen has been cruelled by injury and the currency of KPF is goals, goal assists, score involvements, contested marks and marks i50. On output there's not a huge amount in it and you could argue Tabs has his measure in a few of these key metrics.

I think it's entirely reasonable to say at this point in time Oscar hasn't had a better career than Tabs. Add in Oscar's pudding brained handling of his captaincy and impending RFA and it's a bit disappointing as a fan to have such a big disparity in potential to output.

Taberner was always injured too. Never played more than 17 games in a season.

The advantage Allen has is that he has put together a full season kicking 50+ goals. Taberner was on track to do that once but only played 16 games.

Anyone judging Allen's output from 2019-2021 has NFI. Darling kicked 59, 30, 42 goals. Kennedy 49, 34, 41. Were people expecting a 20 year old to come in and take 50 marks inside 50 ahead of those guys?

None of this matters, though. If Allen played for someone else and WC were looking at offering him a long term deal I would be sceptical. With missing 2022 and half of 2024 plus a poor start to 2025 he doesn't have enough runs on the board to be a safe bet. But clubs are interested and band 1 compo is in play. Taberner's last contract was 3 years and he was delisted at the end of it.

What the media are trying to spin is that WC lowballed him so he is looking elsewhere but also now he is no good so is only worth a band 2/3 type deal so WC should let him go for nothing or overpay to keep him. Good one.

Are you new to AFL?

Does this include financially? Because WC has a buttload of money (and gets far less assistance) and no real way to spend it to get an advantage

Allen needs to play, get some form and make sure buyers like Brisbane, Hawks or whoever provide a contract that will trigger Band 1.

Play A. Reid where possible and if anyone needs a rest and Shahan deserves a call up, give him a gig.

Next season, I am sure A. Reid and Shahan will be playing almost every game.

Rest him. Get his knee as good as it can. Get him fit. Aim to play him when his body is ready not before. Later in the season when we come up at home he reminds clubs what he can do when fit olaying in a side without a midfield.

Job done. :thumbsu:

We may be doing this right now. No point playing him underdone and out of form. That doesnt help anyone.

Our coaches must be caught in the middle here. They know he is probably going now so would rather play the kids, but we wouldn’t let Oscar walk if it was for anything less than first round compensation, so we’re stuck needing to give the impression that we love him and he’s a key member of the team to keep the value up.

To make matters worse he’s in no sort of form and making issues for our tall forward and defender selections. Jilliams and A. Reid have had better outputs and who we should be getting game into, the defensive talls in Edwards and Brock have struggled. Allen should be in defence helping out there but that also doesn’t help his compensation value either.

Shit of a situation to be honest.

maybe this is what mitchell and mini were discussing in adeleide. 'Play him enough to keep him fit but make sure you don't injure him and we'll get you band 1'

I’ve been on this board for over 10 years, always just on and off, I’m not a daily user but I’m always checking in.

In my time I’ve only ever blocked one person and that is Briztoon. I blocked him years ago and he’s still welcome somehow.

And what is this persons life like that they are dedicating that much time and effort on an opposition board? It’s sad.

I enjoy looking through bigfooty and reading about my beloved eagles, and every other thread is derailed by this prick and I don’t think I’m the only one that’s had enough.

If some adult mod is reading this, can we just **** him off. He kills the whole vibe

Some of the stuff from alleged Eagles fans is far more incendiary than anything I’ve read from Briztoon in here.

Feel free to use your ignore list, perhaps I’ve missed some further context to the whole situation but nothing that has been posted reads inflammatory to me.

Pretty sure there was also a seperate no Briztoon allowed trade thread set up in the offseason as some posters didn’t want to engage with them.

It is my dream to be able to put some posters on ignore. Please exercise that privilege on my behalf if you see fit.

It’s not even down to what he posts exactly, it’s the fact that he’s an opposition fan that makes it all the more inflammatory. Even on ignore the threads are still full of convos with other eagles posters.

Why should eagles fans trying to discuss our club amongst ourselves have to make threads avoiding this prick

Maybe some fans don't want to hide away and actually engage with oppo fans, at least the ones with reasonable takes and differing opinions?

You don't speak for everyone.

As an Eagles Member, if Oscar is truly being offered 7 years on greta money I’d encourage him to take it. We’ve been burned recently and the compo would get us a high pick which we should be using to rebuild the worst midfield in the competition
I hope The Dockers recruit him as a Taberner replacement.

Wishing Oscar all the best tomorrow night for his 100th game.

Hopefully, the crowd can get behind him. Admitting during the week that his time off was because he was struggling mentally was brave.

No matter what people think, he is one of ours, at least for now, and we need to show him some love.

Reckons he's never lost in a milestone match? Maybe he's just missed the bulk of em. Bodes well for Muzza!
