Fact is, we're quickly becoming the next superpower of the world.
I can only hope that your tongue is hurting your cheek from the effort put into this statement...

Presumably you also think that the Maldives will win the next Soccer World Cup?

I live in what is one of the safest Labor seats in Victoria: Gellibrand.

Thats why I vote Liberal.

Why don't you live in areas where every assets is liquidated BY LABOR and manages to sabotage every basic necessity.

Hobson's Bay (Gellibrand) - Worst medical coverage in Victoria, we had our opportunities to get Doctors in, but Labor in-fighting totally screwed that up!

Here is an interesting point - to have over 10,000 vote liberal said something about the ineptness of Nicola Roxon. (5 1/2% swing on top of the 4% from the last election)
I wonder what Julie Gillard (Jillard?) did to anger so many of her people off.

Oh yeah, allowing the Western suburbs to be a repository for dealers and junkees.

Labor: Champions of the People MY @$$!!!!

well lets hope that one day when you grow up, get a girl drunk enough to have sex with & become a daddy..........that your child is never sick & that you can afford to send it to a private school & that you will have no problem paying for its $100,000 University degree!

It would seem to me that it would make much more sense for anyone of a 'green' persuasion to stick with Labor in the House of Reps but do their bit for the environment by voting Greens in the Senate where that party can play an effective role in potentially holding the balance of power.
I did that :D

I am going to buy a Tshirt with ''dont blame me I voted Labour'' Just remember all this when interest rates rise...Johnny will say its ''international forces''

Liberals ran a scare campaign about interest rates rising while Labor ran a fair and positive campaign they should be proud of.

.... actually, a million and 1 ads telling us Costello will be the next PM after a year or 2 is a scare campaign aswell isn't it? How is this a positive fact about labor?

Sorry Latham, I don't know where you went, but it seems Australia WASN'T ready :D

Ps. what does this have to do with footy?

Sheep? A war that 'the majority didn't want a bar of'? Locking innocent women and children in 'concentration camps'? Sounds like the vocal minority b*tching and moaning again like they always do.

Apparently soindoctor doesn't like the democratic processes in this country.

I am not a conservative supporter but i unhesitatingly accept the countrys decision because i believe in our process and our democracy.

If you think people who voted differently to you are sheep, you are a sad individual.
Long live demcracy, and my right to vote. And may our constitution protect this right.
I believe in democracy and the people have spoken. Get over it.
  ... Uh... Totally agree, actually.

The thing which is significant is not whichever party won, but that there was a free and fair result.

When ******s like Spinny dismiss a result which goes against them as being down to the majority being idiots purely because they don't agree, then the logical question is Spindoctor what the heck are you doing in a democratic country anyway?
Or are you in favor of people having a democratic right to vote *just* so long as they agree with you?

Having said all that, what the hell is this topic doing on the main board? F-o-o-t-b-a-l-l.

Hope you feel the same when you have an elderly relative in need of a nursing home bed that your beloved Liberals will not provide funding for - or when you are whinging and whining about the waiting list at public hospitals because they are bed blocked by unfortunate people requiring long term non-acute care that is not provided by the conservative federal government!

Mate - you want to hope the State Government stays as is - otherwise you will have no bloody medical care in the west - we walked under Kennett- and rest asurred it could happen again

Enjoy your protest vote

John Howard > James Hird.

And I'm talking about football. Seriously, this guy is a superhero and I have no doubt if he took the field he would be one of the dominant midfielders in the game.

Anyway, to all you pathetic losers who can't handle living under a Liberal government, if you don't like it you can either get the **** out of Australia, or you can sit back and enjoy the next three years. Personally, I'm taking the second option - with Liberal control of the senate, the next three years will be heaven on earth.

Ah, you've confirmed yourself as a COMPLETE idiot now.

With that rhetoric, it is you who should be moving to a dictatorship. I never said I did not accept that Howard won fair and square. What I'm saying is that it's a complete sham, a black day for our nation and that those who voted for him are fools. And I listed why it is bad for us, something none of you can seem to respond to coherently except to call me 'anti-democratic'. Which makes no sense at all...

So what, by your logic Labor should sit on its hands for another 3 years and not say a word against the government, because Howard won? You stupid, pathetic little man. That's what your logic amounts to. You are saying I shouldn't complain because it was a democratic result? The great thing about democracy is we CAN complain, and it is the thing that keeps politics alive (well on life support in this country anyway)...the ability to criticise, debate and complain.

You and your filthy, scumful kind who think non-Liberal supporters should shut up because they didn't win exemplify how far to the right the Liberals have moved, and how quickly they're trying to take away our freedoms in the name of 'security'.

You're a f**cknut Mead, not just in football I've realised, but in life.

With a comment like that you are obviously a very intelligent person. So why would you think a lying, brown nosing, scumbag like Howard is a great Prime Minister?

If you're proud of having a brown-nosed little gnome as our leader, I pity you.
I hope you have a lot of pity to go round, the majority have spoken.

It could be worse, Latham could have got in...
