Impressive win by Melbourne (6-0). You were simply outclassed in every way.

I must admit I don't understand the game (offside, fouls etc) and generally find it quite boring with goals hard to come by.

I thought you had plenty of chances to score but couldn't capitalise. Your captain being sent off didn't help your cause either.

Despite Thompson's 5 goals, I thought Fred was Mebourne's best player.

I hope RoosterLad behaved and wasn't one of the 40 odd spectators evicted from the stadium:D

Soccer boards , some may like the game and support Adelaide United but this is an Australian Football league Board dedicated to the Adelaide Crows, not a South Australian board for general sport.

Thanx for your comments Crows98. My thread was marked OT. There are other OT threads on here such as Adelaide Airport, Monopoly and Roundball in SA that are not Crows related. However, I will keep your comments in mind next time.

Add it to that thread then. :thumbsu:

Agree on all points.

Aloisi is awful and I've already stated my case against that. Sack the bastard.

Fred is an absolute freak and his skills are sublime especially at the A League level.

As for Rooster, well I hope he did get evicted because the game was ******** to watch for us reds and his Adelaide awesomeness would've been too much for the Melbourne crowd to handle.

1 OT thread isn't going to ruin the Adelaide Board, particularly when it relates to another Adelaide team.

Cheers Rave. I thought I'd give Crows98 the benefit of doubt in that perhaps he got out of bed the wrong side.

It was a fair turnout by the United supporters at the game.

Can you please be careful when speaking about my family. Yes true, he didn't really lead by example but a little more tact in your comments would be appreciated.

Next time you see Roscoe can you tell him thanks for nothing from Rory.

Thanks.

Uncle, nephew, cousin, animal, vegetable or mineral, whatever.

Ross is a disgrace - he was a clownshoes on the field and then continued afterwards with his embarrassing, tactless and undignified postmatch comments. Just a shred of contrition would've been nice.

He should be made to apologise to each and every one of the poor bastards who spent their hard-earned making the trip over.

You best change that avatar then. :)

Didn't do himself any favours there.

Merrick couldn't get off the dias quick enough after the trophy was presented and with the non English speaking players in the team I wonder who was the life of the party - perhaps the interpreters attended to kick things along.

I agree that his on and off field performances were an A grade disgrace but why should he or any other player be subjected to on field disciplines when the coach cannot control himself.

On field discipline starts from the top and if anyone should take reasonability for yesterday loss its John Kosmina and his outburst the week before. If he cannot control himself, how can he control anyone else?

Kosmina for Sydney :thumbsu:

Why?

He was Victory's BOG and as such deserves pride of place on each and every one of my posts. ;)

So Ross Aloisi has been the defensive mastermind this season and held the back 4 together? But why did Greg Owens start in defence rather than a natural defender like Aaron Goulding is beyond me?

Adelaide United lost that game before they even walked onto the park and Melbourne Victory would have carved the United defense up with or with out Ross Aloisi in it.

No one in the Adelaide United side showed any discipline and the reasonability lies with John Kosmina, not Ross Aloisi or Nathan Burns but the coach.

If you want to blame someone for yesterday’s loss; blame John Kosmina rather than Ross Aloisi.

Why not blame both?

Ross is well past his use by date and should no longer be in the lineup. Why Greg Owens hasn't been in the side all season as a Central Midfielder I'll never know.

After that effort - bye bye Ross, Carl and unfortunately probably Greg (to a club who treats him right).

If Djite, Owens and Burns aren't all in the starting 11 next season (and in their correct positions WRT Burns & Owens) then I'll chuck a tanty.

Oh and swanfan, tell Ross I said can you please retire?

It was always going to be tough as our left side was completely decimated.

With Matthew Kemp suspended :( , Bobby Petta injured and Jason Spagnuolo not 100%, we had to play Burns out of position and use Greg Owens at left back. With Burns not a natural LW, Kosi used Kemp quite often as an attacking option and maybe he was looking for a similar output from Owens. Goulding is a solid stay at home defender but not really comfortable when attacking.

On another issue our set pieces this year were terrible. Many of them hitting the wall. Our corners were woeful in the last half of the year, about 50% of them were too deep back post or too close to the GK.

Retirements: Ross Aloisi (sorry swanfan), Carl Veart
De-list: Richie Alagich (continually woeful, was thrashed in the GF), Kristian Rees

I agree that Kosmina should demonstrate discipline and we he did the week previous was a selfish act. So too was Aloisi's act yesterday - selfish.

No problem blaming both for that performance yesterday but discipline starts from the top but if he cannot control himself, where is the example for his players going to come from.

I agree that the club should look at his position as player and captain in the squad for next year and ask him to take on off field role but he has had a good year on the park and it's very unlikely to happen. I cannot see him retiring in the next few weeks leading up to the Asian Cup or after that.
