Putting in the effort is not a hassle as I got a TER score of 88 so I have the ability to get the grades and do the work. I just don’t like the culture of university life and four more years of solid study is not appealing ATM.

I would be very happy to win Powerball and retire. :D

You dont like Uni life??? Have you experienced any of it.

Mate uni is nothing like high school. I absolutely love it. And if you are doing a course like arts/commerce/law etc you can be full time and studying only 7 hours a week (that is contact hours) ,although they are changing that as its not fair on us science/engies/med studnts who have 30+ hours (and then have to go to camps during holidays),

It goes by so quickly, it feels like i just finished high school and im in my 3 year now!

Like everyone else has said, there is always room to move within uni provided you get reasonable grades. You should try it out once you have finished yr 12as it is easier than comming back once you older, there is a smaller quota.
:)

I went to Uni for a year and I also thought it was crap! High school shat all over Uni IMHO. They were 5 of the best years of my life, while Uni was a year of my life wasted, not to mention the Power won the GF. :o

As for where I work? Im an award winning baker with Bakers delight :thumbsu:
Many good times had there, and although everytime my alarm goes off at stupid-o-clock and I think what am i doing?? I still love working there. we have a great, young (no one older than 22, ex Franchisees) team, in a successful shop. We are regularly looked upon as one of the standard setter's in this state, which foir a shop that is only just nearing the end of our third year, a testament to how far we have come since the early days. We have award winning sales staff as well (and now even a few good lookers in recent times  ), not to mention consistently high scores in Baking comps... a 1st last year, and a 2nd place this year. I dont mean to brag but.........I enjoy my work!:)

Good work mate, I was the same when I first started out baking did alot of comps etc such as workskill and the Baking Industry Scholarship Awards..........after 12 yrs though just got sick of it and needed a change.........would go back to it if a needed to..........no problems with that:thumbsu: I assume you are doing your trade school at Regency TAFE???? You will have to tell me who the lecturer's are there these days may still some there from when I went through:thumbsu:

I enjoyed working for Bakers Delight I was at the Malvern Central Store in Melbourne...............good owners and good team enviroment..................very busy and productive..................but in the end the lack of penelties for early morning starts and w/ends got to me and I pulled the pin and went back to large plant baking.........................which is less enjoyable but the money was alot better..................if you want to ever see the best plant bakery setup head down to Tip Top at Mile End..............best plant bakery in Australia:thumbsu:

Exactly right and that goes for anything you do.........................you only ever get out what you put into it................some seem to think who ever they work for owes them something.

In November 2006 I took a major financial risk and diversified my employment opportunities to become a small business entrepreneur.

My brother and I decided to go into business together; we manufacture rainwater tanks and then on-sell them to building contractors.

My brother designs the tanks and builds them and I am responsible for the continual development of the business and marketing plan. :thumbsu:

If you are thinking rainwater tanks, ‘think tanks’

I think you may be onto something. Good luck with the venture. :thumbsu:

really?? each to their own (on the uni comment!):)

My sisters are the same, they missed high school. i suppose i love the independence and really love my course the uni atmosphere....this can be dependednt on what uni you are at too.

With my course theres a lot of out of hours contact, & heaps of contact in general. with camps pracs etc so u become much more closer with your class and your lecturer, a lot more than high school...for me anyway...

no point in goin to uni if you dont wana be there lol same with anything.

One of my faves is

find a job you love and you'll never work a day in ur life;)

I admire people who take risks like that as I'm not brave enough (yet). Kudos and good luck!

Only thing that concerns me is you might need a marketing plan as well and you haven't seem to have thought of that yet?

Is that a five year plan that requires adjustments every year? :p

No that was just my inept typing; we are trying to successfully implement different strategies to help increase distribution via our business and marketing plan.

When it comes to Big Footy, the typing is a little inept but we get the business plan and small business proposals checked for spelling errors.

Nope, just did a Traineeship in food handling or summin, and now working full time on a salary. No nonueses for the early starts/weekends does get to me a little, and when my 'weekend' falls on a public holiday I wont get the extra day off :thumbsd: . I thought I was supposed to get a day off in lieu for Easter Saturday....read the award and all, and apparently they think I dont..what can I do? Meh, either accept it or be out on my arse I guess. It really sucked, because I put in so much extra time over easter, get a 200 buck cash bonus think, yeah sweet, my normal salary, plus its only a 3 day week in effect. Week of Easter was so big, I worked 1am-12 on Tuesday, 1am-11 on wednesday, 12midnite-4.30pm on the Thirsday, and then 1am-1pm on the Saturday :thumbsd: . Should have left earlier if I knew I wasnt getting the day of in lieu!

Know exactly where your coming from buddy, Franchise owner makes the big bucks, you work your arse off so he/she makes the big $$$ and rewards you with very little..............I got screwed a few easters and xmas's the same way 12-14hr shifts flat rate start at 12am finish sometime in that afternoon pump out hot x buns like they will never bee seen again, get pumped by the boss if there arent enough available for sale, because that effects his profits, alot of hassle for very little reward........and working in a Bakers Delight is alot more full on work also just the process everything is made.........I dont know how you guys run easter but Ive seen it go 3xfruit doughs for hot x buns and then onto white meal and a grain dough then back do another 3x fruit doughs or maybe 2x fruit and chocolate hot x bun dough..........which is even more of a prick because if you over mix it even on slow its just a huge pile of brown poo:eek:

We were pumping out 1500 odd of each straight up, then our usual production, then more Hot X, more White, more Hot X, more White and so on...and whatevr else as we needed it. Its too hard to plan for those sorta days, we went over our target sales by 1500 bucks, our sales ended up being 2500 more than we did the same day last year.  we closed at 9.00pm that night, and we still had X Buns coming out 7.30pm that night

Can believe mate:eek: I have noticed though alot of Bakers Delight's and even Brumbies franchises are putting their employees on salaries which makes it even worse and more vunerable to be ripped off for the hours you are actually putting in Vs pay taking home which when you weigh next to each other you suddenly are working for $11 and hour:thumbsd:
