There was one on there where an American college student pretended he was Australian. Got a girlfriend, fell in love, and at the point of posting, she and her family thinks he's Australian.

This is my only real haunt nowadays. Got a handful that I browse, but don't participate in. Could probably list 50 forums I've posted in at some point in time, but many of those were before social media really took off in the late 2000s.

The internet was a far better place when forums and msn were king. A lot more vibrant and uninhibited .Social Media is the straitjacket of the internet and I feel that has extended to even the older outposts of the internet . The internet was fun in the mid-late 2000's .

Before forums I was on mIRC for many years, I first started on #casualchat and #chataway then started my own room #chatbuddies which was added to the official list and became huge. Yahoo and msn were really popular too. I loved the karaoke rooms at 3 am after a few drinks..you'd have all sorts of people from different countries singing lol. Good times.
