I too enjoy 100,000 NBA threads.

I used to post on /b/ and then I realised it had become a glorified pr0n dump. Moved to /mu/ & /tv/ for a while before finally landing on /int/. I still browse /mu/ and /tv/ sometimes.

I went on /sp/ for a while a few years back (round the 2013 Ashes) but didn't stay.

Anyone know of good forums for:

- rugby league
- slot cars
- model trains
- tennis

For the two sports,

League is sorely lacking in decent forums these days. RLeague was good, but it was hampered by really anal and inconsistent moderation (a forum I am on which isn't techincally related to rugby league, but where 80% of the original members were members of league forums, always bitched about it, and a significant proportion of their quality contributors moved there over time) and they moved away from a traditional forum structure to a more comments style format. I honestly don't know if it's still open, IIBH.

There's League Unlimited, which I never used because I heard bad things about their quality and also their registration system was weird (couldn't use Gmail accounts as your email account there, or at least I had that problem). That's probably the biggest and fairly similar to this forum, but most people I know have said bad things about it.

Talking League exists, but these days it's basically used to discuss NNRL (a online fantasy game which is too complex to talk about in one sentence. Let's just say it's a fair bit different to DT/SC). Sidhe was hit by the same problems as RLeague, besides it wasn't purely a league forum, more a forum based on games, one of which was for the sport of rugby league. Not sure what else is there, not that I really care as I don't watch league as much as I used to and I am pretty content with the one I found.

Tennis-wise, the biggest three are MensTennisForums, TennisForum and Tennis Warehouse from memory. I am a member of the former (though rarely post there these days for a variety of reasons). MTF is basically Bay 13, with limited actual discussion and a lot of trolling/insults. TTW is more serious but obscenely so - I never used it, but a friend of mine who did said it had better discussion but worse moderation, and he generally uses MTF these days. TennisForum however is WTA-focused - so you can imagine what's that like. It's basically just a bunch of gifs and hyper-feminism (which is even a bit too much for a guy well on the left and would consider himself a feminist). There was Tennis4you, which is basically for the people that got kicked off MTF and a continuation of one of the major chat threads over there. I know there's others, but I can't really think of them right now.

Anyway, due to a lack of life and extreme procrastination skills, I have a crapload of forums which I use. CricSim I have over 30k posts, CricketWeb which I have over 12k posts, an American politics forum (don't judge......) which I have around 6k posts, and MTF which I have around 5k posts. At least those are the ones which I regularly used and read apart from here.

I Also have an account on LeagueUnlimited a Rugby league website, But haven't posted there for many a year. There's some ****ed-up characters on that forum. You think of every bad stereo-type thrown at RL types and that's exactly what you get. They have moderators throwing personal insults at anyone who doesn't conform to the mantra "Greatest game of all". Homophobic slurs to anyone they might enjoy Aussie Rules. As well as every excuse as to why the AFL is bigger in Australia, and that's just for the minority who believe it is. I still visit there occasionally for the laughs though.
