Guys i really do think that ottens will ask to leave at the end of the year and if he does we will want tons for him.

I would like Ken McGregor+ something for him would be the best

Ken is still young and can play KP both ends and is a good young player. I know that ottens will fulfill his potential under a better and new coach so what you think would be a good deal?

And a 1st round draft pick, and we'll throw in Houlihan and/or Pettifer.

Seriously we cant really afford to lose Ottens but if we had to, we'd want a good young player and a 1st round draft pick IMO.

How about no.

Ottens is good, but not McGregor + 1st round draft pick good.

McGregor is ultra-consistent and doesn't blow hot-and-cold like Ottens. He is a blue-chip defender and a rock in the backlines.

Currently McGregor has more value than Ottens.

K-mac averages more kicks, more marks, more goals (even while rotating between defence and attack) than Ottens.

And yet you still want a '+ something for him'?

You'd be hard pressed to get Ken + nothing for Ottens let alone '+ something'.

That sound fair! I think Ottens has missed his prime trade value.

Seriously.
Burton + Perrie + 2 nd round, is a fair deal.
We have a long history of over paying for homesick players.
And Ottens is injury prone, I'm not even sure the club woulkd part with that much for him, after all Hudson is coming along extremly well, in fact maybe a straight swap, Hudson for Ottens.

ROFL

Kenny McGregor is not going anywhere. He is a Crow for life. We will not trade a 23 year old with 80 odd games of AFL experience who is mr consistency and has been improving in each of the last 3 seasons. He is our only young KPP who picks himself in the side.

McGregor = rock in our spine and I don't think we will be trading him. Even if it was McGregor for Ottens straight swap, I very much doubt we would do that deal.

Hudson is coming along in leaps and bounds so far this year and same can be said for Andrews who is getting better with every game he is playing in SANFL.

I am pretty sure AFC will go with youth policy for the next few years so its a given that our 1st round pick is off the limits. You can have Burton + something for Ottens tho ;)

I think thats a bit of a myth. Apart from that back surgery, Ottens has hardly missed a game. He appears to have recovered from that back injury and is playing some good footy this year.
His knee acouple of weeks ago looked ominious?
But you are right.

He recovered didn't he?????? I don't think he missed a game with it. I might be wrong.

I think Ottens will want to come home but I think he could end up at Port if Carr decides to go to Freo.

I would like Ottens but I wouldn't be selling the farm for him. He would be handy. Burton is the only player I would be prepared to trade for Ottens.

As I said, word out of AFC is that youth is on the agenda for the next few years. That tells you we are certain to keep our 1st round draft pick and probably 2nd round draft pick as well.

Yeah he was ok; he only missed the rest of that game.(you were right)
I don’t think port could afford him and stay under the cap, and if they shuffled things to get him they would loose more of their pace, so I recon port is out of it.
Apart from that I am in complete agreement with you.

I don't know about that. If Carrs decides to head off to Freo that would clear up some space and the likely retirement of Hardwick might just be enough to give them some room.

I think we woud be the likely of the 2 but I am not sure we can satisfy Richmond in a trade. They would probably want what we can't give. ie McGregor

They will get something preety good for Carr, and unless thats picks they will still have a tight cap.
Hardwick would be on what 150k 180k, Ottens 300k 350k (Total guess).
If Primus goes then they would be serious abuot him though

Pettifer and Houlihan?

Done. That's a sweet deal, those two would really add to our side, who needs McGregor when you have the sublime skills of Pettifer and the goalkicking nous of Houlihan?

If they throw in Marsh as well we've got a deal.

Burton + Perrie + 2 nd round, is a fair deal.

Are you serious? If you offered us that im sure we would take it and run like crazy.

Perrie can play Forward or Back

And Burton can play midfield or forward. I believe he was ur leading goalkicker in 2002 i think or so. I think they would both be valuable acquisions to RFC.

And then if we pick up a ruckman with our 2nd round pick we would be suited for sure so if you wanna do that trade im all for it.

If I were the AFC footy manager that would be my best offer.
