Tomlinson and Marchbank in the one Trade Period? We are going to have to give up a lot!

the stand out thing for me today was .. Usually Simmo is a cut above for effort and passion , but today it was hard to call as everyone all across the field was throwing themselves into the fight ...and Sam Rowe was just brilliant today , hard to believe people were calling for his head not long ago...

After a few more preseasons all three of Weitering, Plowman and Marchbank will be strong enough to take on the premier forwards.

Not only that.. but the idea is all three KPD are elite rebounders and will destroy a fat Porkins the other way.

Did you actually see today's game?
Yup, no one fell over in the contest more than everyone's favourite utility, nor conceded more turnovers by foot in our defensive half.

He's the first defender to go so Byrne can slot back in, as he was the last ditch effort to combat North's talls with our injuries and Rowe shifted out of defence to cover the ruck.

That's the misfortune of being in the bottom 6 of in a good team performance: you're expendable.

Decent game, but not enough to keep his spot IMO.

Don't write off Sheehan

Very very hopeful on Sheehan if he can stay fit, was very impressive against Coburg last week and plays taller than his height. We all know how well he uses the footy. Could very well have 3 Irishmen in the back half next season.

We may all be going a little strong for marchbank. Word is there are 5 teams in talks with his management and GWS. Will be amazed if he is in blue next year with his possible suitors being *, north, melbourne, us and the surprise package of the lions

Think he may be the ultimate grab for our team going forward but there is still too much time ahead for such speculation.

Having said that, it is an amazing transition our backline has transformed into and is no doubt a formidable and envy back six for a lot of sides

First round draft pick this year may get that over the line. Pick 6-10

id be very tempted to do that for tomlinson/marchbank and throw steele in as well. then for the rest of the draft we need sos to work his magic and get us a bunch of good picks and get midfielders. maybe get omeara & crouch as well. ;)

Plowman, Weiters, Doc, Byrne the nucleus of a good, good backline for the next 10 years
Doc's improvement this year has been immense. Has gone from a good footballer last year to a bloody good footballer this year. Very much in AA form.

Watch his final quarter again. He was brilliant.

guys like white & rowe are more than handy on the list at the moment. they perform a valuable role and are adaptable. their physicality helps as well. what we need to do is have a list where these guys are a back up option. until then i ma happy with them in the side

How GWS ould delist/trade plowman is beyond me

He has been gift to our backline

Finally the worm has turned. The blues are a great development club and we are able to find under-performing talent and make them indispensable. This has not been the case for 20 years. The key, Sos Who gets the picks right and bb who motivates and plays them.
